People who are waiting for security check will be done by month end to next month and the one who have RPF request should be done by this or next week. CIC agent told one of my friend as well as his immigration lawyer said they have started working on the backlogs and everybody who is eligible should have PR by end of December no matter what!

What about those of us whose files have been complete (including all security checks, RPRF paid, etc) since May?

End of December is ridiculous and unacceptable. By the end of December I will have left Canada and returned to the States. I've lost count of all the Canadian job offers I've lost due to not having PR yet.

On a different note, why isnt your open work permit doing any help in taking up the job offer?

Just a friendly reminder, the call center agents do not need to be responsible for whatever they say. So I think we can only take the information from them as a reference.

On a different note, why isnt your open work permit doing any help in taking up the job offer?

In my industry, employers are awarded a huge tax incentive (something like 40%) for hiring Canadian citizens or permanent residents. But they get nothing for hiring those with open work permits. So they always express interest in hiring me until they find out I don't have PR, then they go silent.
