I know from the PR side they are waiting on the further proof of cohabitation, but does this also affect SA approval?

eCas is not updated as reliably as you might think; it's safe to assume that you have Sponsor Approval.

No, is the short answer.

A few members (some March applicants) have reported lately that they have either not received correspondence for SA or had their SA mailed to them, but have discovered that their SA was approved after calling about it (without seeing SA in eCAS). eCAS is notoriously inaccurate. I would give the CIC a call to confirm your SA.

this could indicate your file has been picked for dual processing. CIC has been known to do this for "non complicated" files from certain countries. i'm not sure if they have done this recently. this was happening when i was going through the process in 2014. if this is what it is, usually this is a good thing because it basically means a speedier process. If CIC sends correspondence about the applicaiton or sponsor approval and suggests it's being procesed in Mississauga, then that suggests this is what they are doing. and no, noone was able to figure out what was considered a "non complicated" file. it seemed to be pretty random.

or it could mean what others suggest and ECAS wasn't updated correctly for the sponsor.

Thank you! We just got back from the Canada Consulate and sent off all the sworn statements and backup, let's hope that does it. My Daughter in Law is a bundle of nerves.

As a sponsor, I still have "In Process" on e-cas, while my common law, principal applicant, has "decision made" already.

I have the EXACT same thing as you...all our dates are even the same and just like you no SA. There have been others that received DM while ecas showed no SA. Sounds like ecas is unreliable. On the March board there was talk about them sending out SA in one batch every two weeks so if they are coming snail mail we might not have gotten them yet? It will be interesting to see what happens!
