When I called she told me that Background Check is In Progress and then I specifically asked about the Info Sharing, Criminality & Security stage and she told the status of each.
Got you.
As far as I have seen, Sydney is quick and sending final decisions for the inland applicants. Its only the outlands that are stuck.

What has happened so far with BGS in your GCKey? Do you see a pattern like the one that Legalfalcon mentioned here(in your GCKey)? https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...waiting-lets-gather-here.498854/post-10443831
Yes, Not applicable->your application is in progress(I'm a bit fuzzy about the exact words)...->we are processing your background check...(I think it changed with MEP or a few days after), missed the NA in between though.

On tracker if I use the inspect page trick, I can see that in the history list, the new entry has key "security", so I'm assuming that my security has started. I thought if most people don't see this type of update, they might be part of the "low risk" population, and that might mean I'd be going through more comprehensive security check. If that's the case, it might be pretty annoying. Can't plan my life around 1~18 months of processing time:confused:

File your GCMS asap I guess. At this point, if you aren't sent for comprehensive security screening, you should be less likely to be sent for one.

I'll check my own tracker later today or tomorrow and share what I see there with you too.

Hi guys, I just received an update in tracker that says "background verification status has been updated to in progress". Background verification has been in progress since I created tracker(June 1st), so that's a bit odd.

I was wondering if everybody got this type of update?

I see.

It is odd that you received an update that your background verification status has been updated to in progress, since it has been in progress since you created your tracker. I am not sure why this update would have been sent, but it is possible that there was a technical glitch.

If you are concerned about this update, you can contact the IRCC and ask them about it. They will be able to give you more information about why you received this update and what it means for your application.

I got an ADR as well, how do we know if we are in comprehensive security screening or only the usual security screening?

I'm not really sure, still looking around for clues. Considering how serious they seem to take security, there's probably not a lot of information about the screening process. Probably just have to wait long enough o_O

So on your tracker page, the page with application history, right click->inspect->console and if you dig around a little, you'd find a collapsable thing with app/relations etc. Go into relations->0->history, there's a list of entries about your application history with slightly more detail.

Did you also get an update in your tracker that says something like "background verification has been updated to in progress" after getting the acknowledgement email for your ADR? For me it was the next day after I got my acknowledgement email.

My tracker has "We received your enquiry.". I guess this one because I call them or send the ADR through webform as well.
I don't have the update that you had..
