Guys, there is an update on IRCC website that specifically requests applicants whose oath ceremonies were cancelled in March because of COVID-19 to send a request through webform. This might speed up the process a little bit and you might receive your oath invite if you contact them.

Here's what it says :

Contact us through the Web form if you

• had a ceremony scheduled on or before March 15, 2020, and
• haven’t received an invitation for a video oath ceremony.

Choose the following options :

1. What did you apply for? = Citizenship
2. Which citizenship application? (required) = Becoming a Canadian Citizen (grant of Citizenship)
3. Click on 'Video oath ceremony (virtual citizenship ceremony)'

Hi, I applied for citizenship in April 2019, received AOR in Aug 2019. We got the test invite in March 2020 but that test got cancelled because of COVId 19. I didn’t get any test reinvite till now. Do I need to email or call CIC?

It's not helping, but you can. You'll hear sad stories about COVID, understaffing and one bright story of your file being test ready and all it takes is wait for another unspecified period. But you absolutely can call them, no harm in doing that

We took our first test in March 2020. I passed but my wife couldn't. We submitted our citizenship application in April 2019. AOR August 2019. Test invite Feb 2020.

I will advise u to use web form rather than calling. I send an enquiry for my wife's online re test on 19th January 2021. She got a reply from CiC on Feb 10th stating they have forwarded the citizenship re test request to the concern visa office. Then 2 days later which is today she got an invite email for her re test.

Hi guys..my husband got an email today from cic taht they need frigenprints in order to do the security clearance. My husband also got the same email last year and he sent the fingerprints in January 2020. After that we got the test invite..which unfortunately got canceled due to COvid..Can they ask for fingerprints again as they already have the fingerprints?

Hi, unfortunately the answer is yes. They can request a new set the fingerprints since they expire in 12 months. That's why your husband got the new request.
I am in the same situation. We are February 2019 applicants, I was requested for fingerprints in May 2019 and requested again September 2020 after we were on DM since February 2020 after passing our test late January the same year. We are still waiting to go back to DM soon and hopefully to get the Oath ceremony right after.

Fingerprints have to be up to date until the last clearance just before Oath Taking Ceremony.

Omg..this citizenship seems like never ending process..they are super slow..
fingerprints,test invite, test canceled , after one year again fingerprints ..don’t know when this will be over.. good luck to you guys
