April 2019 Applicant. In process since July 2019. Never received any Test invite. Hope to get an online test.

I called cic today they said all my paperwork has been received and application has been fully accepted. Just said I am in a queue for final processing as others are and the pandemic has delayed the final approval. Just hope all that is true and not a normal response but sounded promising.

I am on the same boat. My application has been in process since August 2019. I called them last week and I was told the same thing.

Hello Guys,

I came to Canada as a PR in August 2015 and my wife came to Canada in November 2015. We have never left Canada since then.

I applied for Citizenship in April 2019, finger prints happened in October 2019 and finger prints again happened in November 2020

we got separated in September 2019 and we have a divorce case going on in Canadian court.

Although we both have not visited India since 2015 but she has bribed the police in India and has filed a complaint against me and my parents in India.Her family bribed the police and Indian police has issued an FIR under section 498a. She wants to pressurize me so that I give sole custody of our son to her.

I retained a lawyer in India and when he met the police they were trying to blackmail him by saying that they will get my citizenship application put on hold. They are expecting us to bribe them.

do you guys think Indian police can do that ? I mean can they contact IRCC and request to put my citizenship application on hold ? Will IRCC even consider their request as I have not visited India since August 2015?

really need your suggestions as I am really confused and worried.

You should be fine as illegal cases filed in India wont matter since you were not there for years and it wont be certainly stopping your citizenship application.

Get the citizenship and divorce process completed here. You will have temporary problems only if you travel to India hence nothing to worry about finishing these processes here itself.
Consult your lawyer before you head to India(go only when you wont get stuck - if not it might be problem for doing the Canadian job hence be careful in choosing to enter India as you need to support the kid). Also make sure to ask the lawyer if it will be safe initially to enter using Canadian passport(with Indian visa) or with OCI - Not sure if it would make difference as i am not expert but certainly using just Canadian passport(with Indian visa) is more beneficial because you can get Canadian authorities to get you out of the country.
