Hi All,

My citizenship application was received on April 4th and called CIC today and agent said she can't find my application. I have signature and tracking number from Canada post saying April 4th as received date.
Is it possible that they have lost my application? Let me know if anyone else is in same situation.

This is normal. They said the same thing to me.

It means that they have not opened your application and entered it into the system yet.
Your application is likely in a pile of unopened applications with mine and everybody else's from early April/ late March.

It could also be that they have sent it back to you due to incompleteness.

It means that they have not opened your application and entered it into the system yet.

They told me the same thing last week when i call the agent even told me maybe its on its way back to
Me but got my AOR 2 days ago... dont worry it will come soon

Hello future citizens,

Before I say "I have got AOR letters (one for each family member)", I have some things to share.

My application was received by IRCC on April 4, 2019. This morning I called at 1-888-242-2100 and talked to an agent about it. She took my client ID, tried to locate my information but could not find any, and said to me what we all know they say to applicants these days - "AOR should be there by now because IRCC Officers are currently opening April 16 applications... Perhaps the application is on its way back to you due to something missing/incomplete etc..."

She then said she was going to fill out a form and send it to IRCC people who are directly handling the applications so that they could track my package. For that, she asked me:

• citizenship app payment receipt number (starting with a capital R)
• courier name
• tracking number
• date of sending
• date of receipt in Sydney

After that she said IRCC would contact me either by phone or email later. So I thanked and hung up. Within 6 hours, IRCC contacted me.

So, the experience of several people on the canadavisa forum suggests that there is a pattern. Pattern: For those who have been waiting for longer than usual (current trend = 2 months) for AOR letters, contacting the IRCC helpline certainly draws their attention to the "missed portion" of the piled-up applications and, as a result, those applicants receive AOR letters within hours or days.

Now that I have shared what I wanted to, here is the news:
I have got AOR letters (one for each family member). Today, on June 20, IRCC contacted me with 3 AOR letters. Admin, kindly update the sheet. Thanks.
