Hi Guys,

I have been a silent reader on this thread and find the discussion very helpful.
Just want to share my case with you guys and know your opinion.

We received ITA on Mar 26. I worked in Canada and my husband works in Dubai.
Applied for PR on 26th April through a lawyer while I was in Canada and my husband was in Dubai. I am not sure what dates did my application clear the medical and ip1 stage but we reached ip2 on Aug 2nd and since then there has been no update on our profile.
Shortly after applying for PR, I was laid off as my company was downsizing and the lawyer said that shouldn't affect my EE profile as its based on the previous experience. So I decided to take a break and come live with my husband in Dubai while our application was processing. The lawyer advised that me exiting Canada will not have any negative effect on my application as I have valid work permit and visa until Dec 2019. So currently I am in Dubai too.

We are in the IP2 stage for 3 months and the lawyer says to expect another 3 -4 months on your application. We have crossed the 6 months mark already. What do you guys think is causing the delay in my application. can I call CIC in spite of having applied through a lawyer? PLease guide us as we are wondering has caused so much of delay.

You should call as you have crossed 6 months mark. Make sure having all information such as application number, contact details, name of family members, DOB etc handy as they may ask for verification. Also consider applying for GCMS notes if u haven't.

Yes, you can call IRCC provided you have all application information which they will like to verify. I am also April 26 and have not received any update! Even my background check is still in progress (Typical of Montreal VO). Do you know your VO? I doubt if it is Montreal since you moved in IP2.
Just to let you know, most IRCC call center agents are not that helpful........however, pray for favors as your call might be routed to an agent who is kind and might even contact your VO directly on your behalf (It was done for someone in Montreal forum).
Goodluck and let us know how it went.

Yes, I will call them.
Also, want to ask do you guys think me staying here with my husband in Dubai while my application is being processed will have any effect.

No it shouldn't. you can move anywhere post AOR aka Lock-in date. but better if you inform change of your present address via web form

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

You may use this form if:
  • You wish to report important changes, such as a change in contact information, births, deaths, marriages, divorces, adoptions, changes in employment, withdrawal of application, refund request, or urgent requests. If you are reporting a change in contact information, it will take 5 business days for it to be updated. During this time you should continue to monitor your old contact information.

AOR April 19
ATIP Notes:
Review required - NOC Code mismatch (Uploaded Letter of Explanation through CSE)
Criminality: Passed
Security: Not Started

This is a little discouraged from what I heard from agent. Finally got lucky today after months of trying to call them. She confirmed the same status as the notes. My file is in Sydney and she mentioned that it will be transferred to Ottawa once further process is made. Not sure what that even means. Other agent has mentioned that the file due date was December 7th 2018 when my wife got hold of them couple of months age. She mentioned that it has changed to March 6th.

Bottom line is, there is not a single way to make your process faster except have confidence and faith in yourself. At least, at this point it is matter of wait. If they were to reject the application, they would have done that already (Not that I have seen such case of getting rejected after more than 6-7 months). Good luck to everyone. Hang in there.

I had worked as both Project Coordinator / Business Analyst both. Although, I spent more time doing Project work, the duties have more specifics related to Business Analyst job title. Needless to say, I selected NOC for Project Coordinator.
