It's been 17 days since our application was approved and DM shown on ECAS. Still waiting for that golden PPR email

Same situation with my wife. We are still waiting for PPR. How ever she is from a visa exempt country I was reading that she may not get a PPR request and just get the COPR... Not sure if this is true or not though.

Not sure what Mississauga/Ottawa is going to do/request - the processing seems so unpredictable these days. However, this likely wouldn't apply to us. My partner is from a non-visa exempt country and although he has a visitor visa I have a feeling a one time entry counterfoil stamp will be required for his passport.

Hi guys,

Don't worry too much about the status change. As annoying as it is, they are very slow in updating them. You could try calling them just to put your mind at ease but I'm sure they received everything. Just for an example, I received the GCMS notes today detailing that everything is complete and has passed and application has been approved. But, the status have not been updated yet on the GCKey account. Hope that helps.

Oulrish, so you are saying you eligbllity is still in progress and so is your back ground check on GCKEY ? I guess i should start trusting ECAS more then

it doesnt make much of a difference other than IRCC proceeding with the rest of your application. Much of the wieght in determining your PR approval will depend on the background check and documents you provided to show a genuine relationship

Yes indeed. As it stands only the GCMS notes is the most realistic proof to where the status of your application is.

We received an email letting us know that our file was transferred to the Ottawa office back in June. We received another message in our GC account this morning telling us our file has been transferred to the New York office. Is this normal?

Things seem to be all over the place right now. It doesn't surprise us that you'd be transferred and then transferred again. Might be a good time to request GCMS notes to find out if there was a particular reason and let us know.
