I think it's mainly good as an alternative to mailing with signature required.
It doesn't really mean anything more that it has been received, but I was interested to see how long the packages were in the mailroom before being opened.
More of a fun experiment for me, but I would definitely recommend for anyone sending their package in without signature required on delivery.
A bit of good news; there are a few people whose packages were received on 3/27 and 3/28 are just now getting AOR. I'm hoping that means those of us whose packages arrived 4/3 and 4/4 will start to see AOR the first few days of next week.
We are a tiny bit concerned about our app being returned because my wife included only her 2015 Notice of Assessment as she hadn't filed her 2016 taxes yet.
After we saw this was happening to some people (not all) she called CIC and they said some officers are returning apps because of that and some aren't.
Which seems ridiculous to me since A) taxes aren't even due yet and it takes a week or 2 to get your NoA after you've filed, and B) I would think something basic like that would be done the same by all the officers...
Anyway, we're just hoping we get someone who doesn't consider that a reason to return our app and in the meantime she has filed her taxes so we are prepared either way.
Good luck to us all on a speedy process! I included my 2015 NOA as i Dont receive the 2016 NOA BEFORE i mailed my application. I hope they will not return our application beacuse of that.
