I see the april applicants are having their background checks change from not started to in progress. I hope my wife BG starts too. It still says not started.

Actually, I remembered I had a friend in Turkey, so I mailed him the passport and made him my authorized representative!

And he took the passport to Ankara in person ?
How do you authorize him as a representative..just a letter saying he is authorized ? Any notary ?

So what is difference btw dm and ppr?
I'm actually in edmonton, alberta now cuz of I started to study in univ. if I get dm or ppr what do I have to do?

I got my confirmation of permenant residence (DM) on the 12th September 2016 from the UK, I am currently visiting Canada and my landing interview is next Monday very happy as its been completed within 5 months, way way faster than we anticipated. They sent my application to Ottawa so it may be why it was so speedy

My wife's BG check has been stuck for 2 months. Not sure what happened but it's frustrating!
The ATIP notes said on Aug 30 they're still doing criminality check.

I've applied family sponsorship on 26th april and they started processing my application on 13th june.

They have begun our background check. Do you think it is an indication of how they view our relationship etc? In other words would they go forward if they had other issues?

Don't guess, just apply for an ATIP note and you'll see VO's comments on your relationship.

Just ordered our fourth set of notes. They had no problems with the relationship just needed clarification on a custody child issue. Sent those documents in and now it has changed to background in progress. Like everyone who is trying to plan their lives just trying to read between the lines. My thoughts are of course with no certainty that they would not move to the next step if not satisfied.

Did the VO send you a request by email/letter for the "clarification on a custody child issue" before you send in the documents? I recently received a new set of notes and it mentioned there's a form (only optional in the initial application) pending. I'm wondering if I should send that in without being asked.

In my gcms notes I saw that they wanted an updated personal history. So I was getting it ready and about to courier it there when we got a request for that document and a court document. So we sent both. Earlier I had seen that they could not find our marriage certificate but they seemed to be ok with it being their fault. So I already had updated relationship information I wanted to send to avoid an interview delay. So I couriered that without waiting for a request and in the notes they mentioned getting that information. So yes I would send it. If they do not want it they will put it aside.

Just wanted to share my hapiness with you guys, my husband got his CSQ today (approval from Quebec immigration). Another small step is done. ^_^

Thanks for the input. MYCIC says it will notify the applicant whenever someone open/updates the file. My notes showed an update on Aug 4 and 30 but receives no notification of it. MYCIC is not performing as promised apparently.

I think the only time you will hear from MYCIC is when they make a change on the main screen. ie Background in progress
