By the way, while we're all madly watching our eCAS, here's a useful thread: "http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/old-in-process-vs-new-in-process-on-ecas-explained-t363793.0.html"

I'm still not sure how accurate the original post is, but it's interesting at least.

I'm thinking about ordering notes. I'm really curious if eligibility has passed.

this is really informative.

A quick question plz reply must
Thanku in advance
Question is this if we applied for visitor visa for Canada and after that got email for passport request to submit in embassy what does it mean? Is it mean the visa is approved?i mean respose is positive.

I would assume so, because usually if they request a passport the purpose for that is to issue the visa in the passport (stamping it). I'm not 100% sure though.

My application was recieved since April 27, however I can't access the sponsors side of Ecas.. Only the PA side is accessible and it only shows two lines which says:

We recieved your application for permanent resident to Canada on April 27, 2016

Medical have been recieved..

I'm really worried because many people who applied in april are all getting SA and I'm still struggling to access ecas

im at 44 days now, so one day over the wait time. Monday (Mississauga time) I'll be at 45, but think I'm going to wait till Wednesday (Mississauga time, so thursday my time) to give them a call and see what's going on.

Anyone know the number to call from outside Canada?

Ta!

try using the in Canada number but use google hangouts or skype to call and see if it works. Or see if one of them works.

It means on your trv application they made a decision and they need your passport to process further.vac usually dont request passport unless it is a positive decision they have taken in your case.could you please explain to me how did you get a trv while pr in process. ...what did you specifically include in your online application, how many photos of relationship ,any special ties to home country etc....please send me a pm with info if you got some time

Hello All,

Need some suggestion here!! I am Canadian citizen and my wife is in India, we have applied for family sponsorship, however, I would like to invite her on Visitor visa for a family celebration in September. If she happens to get the visa and come to Canada, does that effect PR application or process/duration in any way? Do I have to inform or do any correspondence with the immigration once she is here? I am just concern because 1 of my friend has his wife over on visitor's visa and hasn't received PR decision yet. He applied in April 2015. Please advise.

My timeline,
App filed - April 20, 2016
App Received - April 21, 2016
AOR1 - May 3rd, 2016
Med - Pre done
AOR2 - Hoping soon

Thank you

She should be back in India so no need to send passport to Ottawa as I am sure the op is not trying to get around the rules.

I was being sarcastic. The op implied that it was for a short visit so the person should be back home in India when the pr is granted.
