I definitely would like to hear other people's opinions too...just to make sure I'm doing the right thing too!

Every photocopies have to be certified. ;)

Sent my file today.. now the waiting game begins :)

I just sent my application out today to sponsor my wife. She is a citizen of Kyrgyz Republic but is living in Kabul, Afghanistan until the end of October this year. If foreign office is chosen by citizenship, it will be Warsaw, if chosen by residence, it will be New Delhi.

I sent my application out by courier, so should reach tomorrow by 3pm.

Not true. Only photocopies of things in other languages need to be certified.

I dont need to certify a photocopy of my marriage certificate for example.

Ok this is what I was thinking. It also seems to be different depending on what country you are applying from. I took a peek at a few different country specific guides and some say photocopies, some say notorized copies. I guess just follow what your specific guide says and should be good!

All in the guide :D

Congrats to those who sent their apps. Update our spreadhseet!

Probably go through Ottawa. Seems that CIC send files to country of residence but theres always a chance.

Yeah, its $1040 in total I think. I paid all mine upfront too. Save waiting a couple of weeks. We're moving next March too regardless of if I have a visa or not because our Australian visas will have expired! Getting my meds tomorrow and hoping my UK police cert comes tomorrow. Waiting on my wife's tax assessment/option C too but that's been 2 weeks so far and still nothing.

Wait, can you explain why it's 1040$? Shouldn't it only be 75$ for sponsorship application and and 474$ for principal applicant?

I'm scared now :|

Thats the initial fee. You also have to pay the pr fee at the end. A lot of people (myself included) paid this upfront to avoid a delay in the future with them requesting it. Paying upfront negates this request and can speed the peocess up a few weeks.

Hi everyone. Planning to send out our application next week. I have all the forms and proof of communication paper clipped. Do you advise I leave it this way? Or I staple the forms? Not sure the best way to do this. Thanks

Oh, I see. My husband lives in Quebec, so I think we have to have our application forwarded to them first and then receive instructions before we can pay any PR fees.

Also, kinda sucks that the pay your fees page doesn't mention paying PR fees up front is an option, how are you supposed to know :/.

Dont staple. Paper clips are perfect. They pull everything apart so no staples.

When yoh pay you can just select it. It doesn't give any real information. You just choose what yoj want.

Wait until its been transferred then consoder paying the pr fee and sending proof along by mail or as a case specific email.

Finally! Got the certs and the option c. Tax form so in my wife's maiden name but ill include a note saying they didn't update it.

Congratulations ;D.

I'm about to do my visitor extension application. I'm sending it by mail because it takes 114ish days to process, so by the time I hear anything about it I might just have PR. I'm just waiting for my printer ink to arrive in the mail so I can print off the forms and send it.
