Postal workers — including letter carriers and mailroom staff — have been in negotiations for a new contract for the last six months. Several issues are on the table, including wages, working conditions, and job security.
They also want the Trudeau government to hold to its word, and restore door-to-door mail service to those communities who've lost it since the former Harper government launched plans to phase it out by 2019.
Strike votes are being held across the country — and there is also the possibility that the crown corporation could lock their workers out at that date.
Some letter carriers in Brossard are wearing Bermuda shorts instead of their regular uniforms as a pressure tactic.
