So is it looking like those of us that filed in April will be approved in October/November? That is the feeling I am getting from looking at threads from other months. I didn't realize it would go so fast. As much as I do want it to go fast, part of me was planning on a few more months than that, which would have had one benefit of allowing me to work in the states a bit longer and save up a bit more money for the move. I didn't really expect to be leaving my current employment until early next year.

i am estimating december-ish. considering the wait time starts from when the visa office receives the package, and currently sept-dec applicants are getting close to the end, 8-10 month wait time seems "average" for us applicants. that puts us in november-january if transferred in april, and dec-february if transferred in may by my calculations.

Hey rehcohen, if sept oct r getting approval means 8-10 mnths time frm the day they applied. So ours vil b November- January... M early April applicant so mayb by December itself. I think they vil ask our passports in October. Just a guess.

it's important to remember that all visa offices have different time frames, so just because ottawa is seeing applicants from sept - dec. finishing, it doesn't mean every visa office is following the same schedule.

We FINALLY got our SA yesterday June 26th, after an AOR of June 5th.

I'm happy, but at the same time, I'm ***** :'( pissed at CIC for this delay. We pay good money and the government can't improve their process.

They may have started processing our application as an inland by accident, because one day I called to follow up (like 1.5 weeks after AOR) and they called me back next day and left a message. They told me to call back and retrieve a message from an agent. The agent said that what they had told me from a previous call was incorrect, that in fact my application was an outland app... whatever that meant.

I agree with you that we pay good money and the process should be improved and also we pay a hell lot of taxes too.

This is soo lame. For me I have to apply for Quebec Selection also after Federal and God knows how much time they are going to take.

the total amount for the application is $1040. What do you expect this money to cover? Remember that there are multiple immigration officers to pay and offices to maintain, not to mention plenty of other administrative costs. I doubt $1040 per application is enough to cover even 1% of that. Also, we can't expect a large portion of the taxes paid by canadians to pay for immigration services. I'm sure there are other matters citizens would rather see thier money be allocated to first. You know things like health care, education and infrastructure? My guess is the majority of the budget allocated to these offices goes toward employee compensation. As far as how long it takes visa offices to process, that has nothing to do with money. That has to do with government workers working, and whatever internal "rules" that go along with that job. They get paid no matter how fast or slow they process an application. This isn't private enterprise where the bottom line and productivity matters. This is a government agency.
