Can someone explain why it takes so long for them to return the passport? What do they do with it, besides pit the visa stamp?

My wife got requested to send her passport thru email

No my wife submitted her pp through vfs sylhet this Sunday...

No they didn't return any pictures, we chose the email option for all our communication...so maybe after they will return them.

my ECAS still says application received only, didn't change to in process....maybe it will change to in process afterthey receive passport
