By the way, I just wanted to share this because it made me laugh. Now I have a 5th line in my ECAS showing the following:

You entered Canada at the Unknown office on April 5, 2015 and became a Permanent Resident.

I feel like I crossed the border through the jungle or something like this.

I think you are a secret agent and CIC can't detect where on Canada you entered. :P

Hi Snofairy,

Congratulations!!

Quick question: have you received the "Ready for Visa"email? How long before they have changed your Ecas status to "Decision Made"?

Tks

Hi EPP,

We haven't received an email stating 'Ready for Visa' yet.

Thanks!

But its confirmed that you entered in Canada. :P : :D Great

Haha! Yes :) I was hoping to see that line showing up in my ECAS sometime this week. I got my new SIN and OHIP card today. Very straightforward process (less than 20 minutes each one).

Great buddy. You have finished all necessary steps.

Hi guys,

Is it possible to do flagpole landing at all borders or it's possible to do only at certain borders.

Thanks.

I don't have any idea. But this is good question.

I think that - by definition - you should be able to land in any border because you're entering Canada. However, landing in some borders may be easier than others due to the preparation of the crew (officials) to handle the landing papers properly. Anyways, it's worth asking this question to the general forum. Someone else may be able to give you more details.

All the borders do not offer IMMIGRATION services. Only the main borders do.

For a list of borders, and the services they offer, please check the following link.
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/do-rb/menu-eng.html

Select the province, and you will find the borders, and their contact information, and which services they offer.
If you find IMMIGRATION, in the list of SERVICES, then you are good to do the landing at that border.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Canadiian! I didn't know! It's weird that you will be crossing the border and you can't land as immigrant because it's not "offered". Anyways, great explanation: +1 for you.

Welcome Maxmoore :)

Well, once you are there, they really won't stop you just because they don't offer the service at that particular border.
They will contact the closest main border (which offers the service) over the phone, and do the necessary steps required to let you land as a Permanent Resident.

But who would want to take the risk, right ?? So, I have posted the previous message, for everyone's good.

Canadiian

Thanks for the input. I think it is a bit more complex than this. For example, "airports" are listed for immigration services but you cannot land at an airport unless you actually "fly in". Likewise, at harbour ports, I don't think you can do flagpole unless you actually come in in a boat or something. I am not sure though. The thing is that, if you go to some random border where the officers are not trained and do not do landing paperwork on a regular basis, then you may get yourself in trouble.

Has anyone heard of flag-poling until a certain time of day only? One of my friends said her friend was asked to come back the following day because she flag-poled too late in the day...

I have never heard of anyone personally.. but yes, they could do that, as there are certain specific timings for IMMIGRATION services at each border.

You can check out the link that I posted above, to see which borders offer the IMMIGRATION services and within what TIMINGS they offer the service.
