Hi Val884,

My company's address on the letter head was a residential address.
But, I did not provide any explanation on that nor was questioned about that in my case, because my employer has provided the actual business location address at the last.... under his signature and name.

I think it should be okay as long as you provide the actual location of the company, somewhere in the reference letter.
This way, the VO can search or do a background check if the company really exists or not.

My company doesn't have a website as well, and it was written in my GCMS notes, "Online information could not be verified"
Even that didn't cause any problem in my case.

About responsibilities and duties, I was never questioned about it. My responsibilities would be totally different from your's anyway.

Thanks,
Canadiian

Congratulations ;D

Could you please share your experience what you wrote in your explanation letter to a visa officer, about residential address and your responsibilities. Please help

I want to land. Sucks when you don't have a car :( I'm taking the bus to Niagara on Sunday! Does someone have any experience taking public trans from Toronto to Niagara?
I can suggest the cheapest means of travelling to the rainbow bridge.
from various places in toronto, there are safeway travels casino buses which drop you to the fallsview casino which is just at the falls. if you dont have the casino pass, then the cost of travel is 25$ for a round trip journey for the first time. Once you reach the casino, you can approach the conceirge or reception to get a pass made. once you have that pass then all your future trips to Niagara falls from Toronto can be in as less as 7$ round trip.

Now from the falls view casino, you can either literally walk to the rainbow bridge and cross the border on foot. you will have to pay i guess 2$ per person to gain entry tot he bridge.
the bridge will directly lead you to the US IMMIGRATION and you can do the flag poling and back via the same bridge to the Canadian immigration.
Once your PR formalities are over, you can go back to the same fallsview casino bus stop and take any of the next shuttles back to TOronto.
Usually it is advisable that you use your card at the casinos to play there.. even if it is only for a dollar. that way they know that this card was sued on this trip in the casino
HOPE THIS HELPS>

I have tried this method out to goto Buffalo , niagara falls outlet malls on the US side. so you dont really have to worry.

Hi Hitsbecool,
Can you please let me know what kind of questions they ask you while landing?
Do they ask any tricky questions or is it just simple?
Just curious to know as I am planning to do landing once I receive my passport back from CIC. :D
Sorry for delay in reply - Here is my landing experience -

1. Took a Go Transit from Toronto to Burlington (1:15 hour)
2. Burlington to Niagara Bus Terminal 2 Hour
3. Taxi from Niagara Bus to Canada Border (10 Minute)

Here you have to enter into the bridge to US. You will find a turn style door there with or without a Canadian guard. You have to put 50 Cents for each member to activate the door ( If you don't have coins there is a coin machine before the door). Once you put 50 cents ,the door will open for you. Just enter. YOU HAVE CROSSED CANADA BORDER. Now walk on pedestrian way to the US side. Its around 1 Km. When you enter to the end of the bridge you will reach at the US border. You will find US border officials there and just simply say to them- "We are for Canada PR landing". They will just take your passport, examine this and will return to you. They will give u a slip and ask you to return by the same pedestrian way from where you entered.

When you return from the US border and reach at the Canada border, you will find a Canadian official who will ask you for your passport and the slip that is given to you by US. Now Canadian official will give you an another slip (Usually they call it Yellow Slip) and ask to you to go to border office that is the other side of the road. (If you head towards US, its on left side).

When you reach at border office they will ask you for following -
1. Passport
2. COPR
3. Yellow Slip from Canada official (That u just got at Canada border)

They may ask you few questions like -
1. What is your current status in Canada
2. Where do you work etc

If you are working in Canada better to carry your employment document, work permit etc (They said even the company ID card or visiting card would work) . They asked me for the same but I had nothing other than Passport and COPR. Though they approved my PR landing without them. But its better to carry all the docs just to avoid any questions.

They also asked me for some other address proof document in Canada. Fortunately I had my driving license. So better to carry as much docs you can :).

All depends on your CIC officer and rush on that day. My landing process took almost 4 hours since I did this on weekend and there were so many people for landing that day. Better to choose any weekday.

Happy Landing !!

Hi hitsbecool,
Congratulations !!!,
One question:
What is written in yellow slip ? Do US officers entered your passport information in system?
Actually I have US h1b visa and I don't want to use this Visa to enter. Also I don't want this flag pole should not impact my future trips to US.
Thanks in advance.

If you have submitted the requested documents then you should get it around 11th Or 12th of April.... I had the same situation, CIC asked for my marriage certificate and the same day my ECAS status got changed to In Process. I submitted the certificate after a week and got PPR exactly after one month of the date they started working on my file.

Good luck :)
