HEy guys, does anybody know if we should have a valid PR card during the test or oath??
My PR is expiring soon, don't know if I should renew it in the meantime...Don't want to deal with papers anymore!!!!!

When does it expire? Unless you are planning to travel outside of Canada, I don't think it really matters.

Yes, myself and two kids of mine No, no update on ecas yet, but I was told that the letter was mailed by Mississauga.

Yes, you need valid PR for citizenship and 2 valid pictures ID e.g Driver licence, health Card etc

Just one of us received the test invite for now... the rest I guess keep waiting and hoping...

You are lucky Suin, I applied in March, they started the process in May and my file never transferred to local Mississauga office. I called them this week, they told me that it is normal. Current waiting time is 25 months yada yada yada...

Hi Sheb, Woodex

You don't need a valid PR Card for test or oath. Valid PR card is only required if you go out of Canada and want to come back. And the boarder immigration officer will let you in easily if you have a valid PR Card.

Sheb, i don't recommend you apply for a PR Card renewal at this time as your Citizenship application is already in process. If they send you RQ, it will be a mess and a long wait time.

You don't need to worry. Just take as much proof as possible - and always think positive!

When I called them today, they told me that the letter was just mailed today (or yesterday maximum). Maybe you have the update as well?

They kept referring to 25 months waiting period every time I called too... I guess it's a generic answer.

We called the CIC this morning. The agent informed us that our test is scheduled for December 12 in Mississauga. Now waiting for the letter with confirmation!
