Congratulations to all those, who are getting their CC charged.
Quick question - To apply under CEC, what is the minimum eligibility requirement? - 12 months or 24 months, if you are on a Work Permit? And is it different for different provinces - eg - if one has a WP in BC or ON, will it differ?

Work permit is work permit all over Canada (not sure about Quebec)

yes you need just 12 months .....(if you studied in Canada or not doesn't matter,,,just 12 months that's it )

I applied for CEC on April 18th.. but I mentioned the NOC 2171(IT Consultant), in my work-permit it was Software Engineer(2173)..

I gave a "roles an responsibilities" letter from my manager which states that as "IT Consultant".. I was confused with my Job title and job confirmation letter, this caused me to make this error

I haven't received my AOR yet.. I would like get my Application returned to me before processing it and getting Rejected. I used CC for the payment, If I cancel my Credit Card they will not make the payment and that leads to return the Application to me( I know its not good practice, but I don't have any-other choice)..

If I email to "CIO-Sydney-search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca" office and ask to return the Application, will they be able to help me???

someone pls pls help me with your valuable suggestions...

Your idea is good too. but I prefer to call CIC and explin the situation, ask to return the application.

just got my AOR email!

I have to ask though, why is it called AOR? the subject of the email was "Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (CEC)"

It states that my application is considered complete under the conditions requirements etc and has been forwarded to the visa office I indicated in my application, receipt number for payment, mu UCI number and application number. Information about informing the visa office of any changes of your address, etc. And then steps to get credentials recognized in Canada.

I was hoping this email would state what to expect next. As far as I know just from reading the forum, we can expect a medical request next right? sometime in the next 5- 7 months or so? and this should come in the post not email?

Can anyone confirm this for me? or direct me to a list of what the process has been in the past?

( by the way I checked my CC statement and even though it didn't show up until this week on my account, the transaction was actually made by CIC on Friday the 17th may, and I got my AOR email today, exactly a week later. so CC was charged 5.5 weeks after application received and AOR 6.5 weeks after.)

Any april applicant got his/her credit card charged by CIC till now? I applied on 10th April and expecting AOR next week but credit card did not get charged for it yet :'( hope everything would be fine

Congrats! even though the transaction did not reflect on your account until 1 week later, was your credit card balance not affected right from the day (17th MAY) CIC charged your credit card? My guess is that the processing fee would have been held since 17th May which should reflect on your credit card balance. I am in the same shoes with you, Kindly answer this question, as my CC balance has not changed and I am expecting AOR next week.

hey guys i have a question, I applied my cec with my old passport which is getting expired in dec 2013,,,right after i filed my application i applied my new passport ...as soon as i get my AOR i will send them a details of my new passport but do i still have to send them a new PCC as my passport will have a different number?

and my current work permit is also valid untill 7 th dec 2013,,,can i also apply BOWP after i get my AOR (may be next week) as its says 4 month b4 expiry ,,,but how about if i apply end of june or first week of july as i still have 6 month nowonwords
plz give me some suggestion

send the current passport copy to CPP, that is needed. and you can apply for the BOWP on next August as the CIC rules but you can try.

Usually people ask why AOR comes after office hours? So, the asnwer is they have scheduled batch processing (ETL) which means when they run ETL at scheduled time and then their respective email sends whole bunch of AOR prepared alomost the same time. It depends, how they do grouping but i am sure, its not only single person who receives AOR at one particular time, it may be 15 people at the same time. Cheers
