Hi there!

We would like to joing the thread.

Here is some info about us: We've been together for more than two years now. Recently married. I'm Colombian. We met in Colombia while travelling. We have traveled for the most part of our relationship. Now we want to settle down, so we got married and applied for the PR. We think we have a very complete application:

-Tons of proof: catholic wedding, photos, family trips together, skype -chats-email records. Boarding passes -same flights together. Financial support. Friends in common. Contracts under both names.
-Im not a criminal and Im healthy.
-Perfectly filled forms -double checkings
-Explanations of our relationship. Very detailed docs...

We're very confident and we know we're gonna get it.

Application:
We sent our application on April 1, 2013.
They received it on April 5, 2013 -As Fedex said.
We got an AOR from Immigration Canada on April 23, 2013 saying they got our package. We also got our UCI.
On April 25, 2013 my husband got approved as sponsor. -Which makes us so happy!! The letter also said they sent our application to our visa office -Bogota in our case.

Now we hope they process it fast enough!

Hey guys! First off, great forum!

Okay, now we just recently got married last March and in the midst of gathering our docs. I need some help...im the person being sponsored and the checklist says they need the form imm 1017 incl on the application package. I called the clinic to make an appointment and they told me that I need a letter and form from CIC in order to get screened. The form that has a barcode, said the clinic assistant.

The website was quite vague on which imm1017 I sjould get, so i just wanted to make sure, do i get the medical exam before, or after we submit the application.

Hi Limejuice!

When I had to do my medicals I had the same concern because the clinic staff we're confused. They wanted me to have a letter from the embassy but as we are under the Family Sponsorship Program we dont need that. That's only for visitors and other.

Contact them again and tell them you're being sponsored. It should be no problem. They will give you a letter with the bar code when you pass the exams and that is it.

Make sure to send the medicals as well. It wont cost you more time waiting later on.

Congrats ghunter....we got our AOR on Friday also ) Baby steps count too!!! Was checking Ecas,,,nothing there yet...I read somewhere here that SA sometimes is already done by the time the AOR shows up in Ecas? Has anybody experienced that? Thanks!

Hello all, we sent our application in on April 22nd, it was received April 23rd and we received the email confirmation or receipt plus UCI # etc on May 4 (yes, a Saturday).

Now we get to wait for my sponsorship approval before it all gets sent to Manila
