Question guys...

I recently found out that my CRA income tax return for 2011 stated I am an Emigrant. Which is a huge error and so I am now writing to CRA International Service Office to correct it. Will this affect my sponsorship? I did not send income tax 2011 copy with my app... only the 2010 which I had prior to filing the application and has nothing Emigrant written on it.

We just received a letter from CRA for the Trillium Benefits... it listed my husband as widowed... he has never been married before so we were wondering if this might be a sign LOL anyways I called and they said they would change it... funny thing is we just sent them a letter for the Ontario sales tax credit and added my world income to it yet it seems I'm dead.... how can they include a dead spouses income?? :-\

Hi everyone...

I just wanted to share with you that on August 15th we received AOR from our VO. We got two letters in the same email, the second was requesting we pay the PR fee, police certificates, and the 4 pictures for the applicant I forgot to include in the package.

I wasn't expecting to hear anything for another 3 to 4 months so this was great news. Just paid the PR and sent off the receipt now we gotta wait for an original letter to request the federal police certs but it's awesome awesome to know someone is looking at it.

To those who are waiting for stage 1 approval still my heart goes out to you, I will keep my fingers crossed and hope it comes very soon. Good luck everyone!!!

Hi everybody! A non-update from me too. I phoned yesterday but the agent said they hadn't decided yet and that was strange since they should have.. They still had my file open after 2 weeks. So he emailed them to remind them to make a decision since he said they were past due on that. There's no way I can't be approved.. no social assistance, no criminal record, nothing ::) Did you guys submit Option C's for 2011? I didn't because I hadn't finished my taxes yet.. it was just around that time. But I submitted the previous year's.

No that wouldn't be it Steph C cause when I ordered my option c it was for 2010 taxation year as well......seems you got a slow agent....I bet you hear something for sure next week.....not to much longer for sure!!!!

Hi,
Are there any Paris Visa office applicants in April 2012 on this forum?
If so please share timeline of Paris if available.
Thanks

The Option C is not something that is truly a required document. They ask for it and make it sound like you MUST have it, but in reality you don't need it. That being said, you should make sure to have a reasonable explanation and other tax documents from Canada or abroad (also unnecessary, but it can't hurt to include additional evidence in support of the explanation).

Steph C, I can't believe you haven't been approved yet! What the hell are they doing? It's beyond unacceptable! Keep on them and you'll get your approval...and look on the bright side, this will probably mean a shorter wait for stage 2, which as we all know is the most important stage!

@ mobeyk: any word from HK? We just spent a week in HK! Awesome time. The JW Marriott is an awesome hotel and we loved it so much. We took our son (9.5 months old), and he was a little superstar...90% of the time he was smiling and happy...only when he got really tired did he start to fuss...I love HK! It's so hard coming back to the mainland! Hope you and your wife are well and that you hear something from the HK VO ASAP!

Good luck, all!

FS

Yeah I have visited HK and love it there too! So now I understand a bit better FS, (you only ever did say you're in China, not HK) maybe I thought it was the same I'm not sure, but inside I was indeed thinking "ok I know vacation is different from working, but I would love the chance to work over there", plus one HUGE benefit in my opinion . . . NO CAR REQUIRED ! ! Although I'm sure cost of living is another story.

Yes, can you imagine almost 4 months for first stage approval?

We love HK as well. My partner especially loves it there. We were there frequently with our previous company, now we have to go on our own which is more expensive ::). It's really like disneyland, so much to do.. oh and even the smallest disneyland in the world. No offense FS but China, ugh. The pollution. At least HK appears to be 'misty.'

Thanks :) All our stuff has expired already. Like the police check that was supposed to be 3 months new. And his medicals, done June 2011 not 2012. We knew they would expire soon but were hoping not to redo his kid's medicals as that was near impossible to get.

Well the good news is that all of it was received before it expired so they won't send anything back....unfortunately you will have to get stuff done again but it won't delay the sponsorship approval......but there will be good news for you this week for sure :D

Random question, after the approval process and you get your PP back, I've read that the CIC states you have to be at the border by a certain date. Is the correct, and roughly how long do you have to get to the border?

the landing date coincides with the medical expiration date, so you'll have up until the date of the medical expiration to land. For some, that gives them several months to land, while others just a few days. But you can always land, then return home to tie up loose ends.

The date that my husband's visa would have expired did not match the medical. It was several weeks before the medical was done. We didn't ask why as we were going months before the date but I thought that was odd. Perhaps it was just an error.

Ok, so long as Stage 2 is done before my medical expires, we should have time to make the move. That's good. Thanks! :D
