Congratulations to all who received approvals, AORs, etc...

I haven't posted in this thread in quite some time. Still no updates for my wife. We received the AOR from HK, but since then, no word and ecas hasn't changed - still shows application received on April 13. I wonder what they're doing?? Have they opened our application and put us in the line? I'm going to wait another month or so and then send an e-mail to find out what they're doing...

Hi all,

Mississauga received my application on 4/23, and I have heard nothing from them since. I called CIC and they informed me that there si nothing on my file, but my wife's file would have more info because she is the sponsor. However, I am not listed as an offical representative on that file, so they would not give me any info. I am emailing them the Use of Representative form now, so within ~5 business days I will be able to access her file. It is harder for her to call because she works most of the day, leaving only a few hours window to get through to CIC

Is there any reason to believe that my file might have already been transferred? I know there is no way of finding out until either she gets through or I get the access, but this is getting frustrating. Almost 4 months with no response is ridiculous.

I hope it turns out to be like the poster above's case where the file was transferred long ago, but no letter was sent, nor email, nor ECAS update.

What do you guys think?

I would get your wife to call as soon as possible, that way you can be relieved when they tell her that they sent you a letter and you have yet to receive it or it's in process

haha, yeah she just told me she tried to call them ~45 times while at work. i'm sure this is an exaggeration, but she's trying! we are also going to fill out the representative form so i can call them myself.

i just hope the file has already been sent. It's funny because the CIC has files on both me and my wife. However, am I correct in understanding that CIC-Mississauga will never have any information about my file, only my wife's, because she is sponsoring me. Once she is approved, the file gets sent to my VO, which will then have info about my file.

I guess to see the glass half full, we haven't received the file back to us yet, so it wasn't rejected! I am sure that if it was rejected for an error/typo we would have received it by now. I just don't see how it's possible we truly haven't been approved yet when April applicants have been approved for weeks now

Depending on where you live - the letter might have been sent a while ago for approval, but you don't have it yet, because it's on its way, or lost. Email is safer for that... Hope you can hear from them very soon, with good news!

We haven't heard anything since my husbands file transfer to Los Angeles. I check his ecas everyday, hoping for as much as a "medicals received" update.. but to my avail, nothing. I'm sure it'll be months before an update, so I've decided to forget about ecas for awhile.

I feel for you fireluck.. you've been waiting for so long! We'll all be doing a happy dance for you when you get that approval letter ;D

They don't send AOR's for this anymore, and it can take a while for it to be processed. I remember you saying you sent it in ages ago so you could always call them just to make sure it was received. I have never had any problems getting through on the phone when you go through the foreign worker menu.

Thanks again rachiy, I'll try calling again tomorrow. I'm just incredibly nervous about this right now because my parents have decided to come and visit us on the way to the UK in a couple of weeks. Of course I've tried, quite emphatically, to dissuade them - it's probably the worst possible time to visit as there's no assurance I'll even be granted a visitor visa! But I suppose, parents can't be told... :

I'm glad that some of you guys are getting your application processed so fast!
I sent mine on April 14th and it started showing last week on website that it was received on 23rd. Also, received a letter stating that stage 1 has been cleared. I haven't seen the letter myself so I will post when it was actually dated when I get it from my Lawyer.
My application is out-land sponsorship (I am the sponsor )
The only reason we did out-land was because our lawyer suggested choosing Buffalo office to fast things up... and... BOOM. It closes down on us

Congratulations on being approved as a sponsor, and on to stage 2! Buffalo is closed, but outland for US passports is still faster than the inland process altogether, so it's still a good choice! Hope you'll hear from Buffalo soon enough.

Random question, after the approval process and you get your PP back, I've read that the CIC states you have to be at the border by a certain date. Is the correct, and roughly how long do you have to get to the border?
