What I understand from the excel sheet in last 12 months till 30 June 2011 following MI-1 case were processed
Total cases Processed = 22,839
Total Cases Passed = 12,229
Total Case Refused = 10,610

if we see the above figures this means that all applications will take another 2 to 3 years to processed so they might finish all MI-1 cases by 2014

Please correct me if I am wrong !

You are right unless there are no coming future changes
Or new priorities

What I do not understand is how does the minister say in his report that they clear all MI-1 backlog in next 2 years ?

They reject many cases. The rejection rate is high about 50%

Is this 57000 the number of cases or visas? I think there are 136000 people waiting for decision in MI-1 so if 57000 is the number of cases and considering the approval rate they can finalize the MI-1 in 2 years.

You forgot the applicants who applied b4 MI1 and there are also applicants who have priority on rest of the applicants I.e MI 2, MI3

Here's the address on cic that you should go to: cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/index.asp
You will find information about how to apply and how to attach your consent and all.

The form you will be using is cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf but you should read the instructions first. You will be applying under the access to information act($5) not the privacy act(free) because you are not located in Canada.

Good luck.
PS: I can't submit links, that's why I kind of removed the http and www prefixes from the addresses. If they didn't work this way, add the prefixes and try again.
