Applying for canadian visitor visa as an Iranian in Germany

Hello everbody,

I have several questions regarding the issuing candadina visa process.

• Is the time estimator of the website reliable?Whenever I calculated the estimated time they have said 8 days but the 8 days are over and my status did not get updated
• Do they usually upadte the stauts of biometric document in CIC account? yesterday I gave my biometrics but still nothing is updated in my pofile
• I have to fly to canda on 20th of July, I have applied for the visa on 13th of June. Do I have to be worried??

Dates posted are an estimation, it is only for informational purpuses, not a commitment.

Yes they do, but they might take from days to months to update it. Some do not get updated at all.

I have to fly to canda on 20th of July, I have applied for the visa on 13th of June. Do I have to be worried??

The only left question is: Is there any way to speed up the process or at least to realize the current status of it?

Actually, I am pretty disappointed and I think I should start considering to cancel my travel plans which is going to cost incredibly much for doing nothing and only wasting money and lot of time. Maybe it was my mistake to trust the given number of days as the processing time. But as much as I informed myself there is no ways get more information or understand how many more days are required, very sad.

Since it is open.

Use myCIC to check what is the latest status.

Yeah, of course I check that. But when in all the fields from the beginning tilll now it is only written: "not needed at this time", I ask myself so what are they doing all the time. What I have in my CIC account is actually not really a stauts of the process, it communicates nothing about the stauts of the process.

I tried to contact CIC through email.

Surprisingly, they answered. But the email actually contained NO useful information and made everything even more doubtful than before. They said: "please be informed that your application is under review for background verifications. These can be lengthy and we are currently not in a position to provide a timeframe as to when the application will be finalized."

What does that even mean? what is background verification exactly? Did anyone have had similar experience? Do I have to start cancelling ticket, hotel, conference and all plans I made?

Hi, my question is about biometric letter. I am from Iran and have to do biometric I applied for Canada visitor visa 25 days ago but I have not received any biometric letter yet (referral letter). My application was confirmed.Also I was not charged for biometric test.
