I think, though not sure, that even if you have a temporary residence card that doesn't guarantee admission at the border. I applied for one so that I could legally remain in Canada past my leave by date, but I never heard anything about my temp application (still haven't). My PR application was processed faster.

thank you. I understand much more now.

One more Question:
While my Passport is sent to Buffalo- (3-4 weeks) Is there other identification/paperwork I can use to cross the border into Canada and back to the US or during that time I have to stay in the States?

thanks so much!

if you are a green card holder in the US it will not be a problem to get TRV to Canada. It will be easier to visit a Buffalo office personally, as this they they give decision the same day.

Suin, I'm pretty sure CanUs is a US citizen. And she lives on the other side of the country, so it's not like she can just pop down to Buffalo one day :P

Having a NEXUS card is not a red flag. Quite the opposite, there is an extensive background check and personal interview for all NEXUS applicants. That is why they are actually processed faster at the border, often without an in-person inspection. I don't imagine that being a NEXUS card holder would affect your application in any way whatsoever.

They can track your border crossings anyway, whether you use a NEXUS card or a passport...
