Apply for visitor extension (Visa Exempt)

Hi!

My husband is from a visa exempt country. But my question is, to get his visitor status extended, would we have to apply for a visitor extension/TRV just like everyone else? Even though he is from a visa exempt country?

It doesn't matter if he is visa-exempt. He must apply to extend his visitor status like everyone else.
