Applications sent on 18th of June

Hi Friends,

I sent my first application package on 18th of June and up to now I don't have any answer from NS. Its 7th week. Could anyone tell me is it still ok??? I am checking my email all the time, but still nothing...

it's absolutely fine Nari. these days they are normally taking about 2 months to respond to a new app. so don't worry, u'll get ur mail.

When did your application reach novascotia, count time from that point, also check if ur DD has been encashed - these two are good indicators.

also it takes 10 weeks now for some response from NS

Keep all your documents with PoF ready for your full doc submission to your local office. You will also need to submit CAD490 towards RPRF, so have enough funds ready.

I do not understand what does it mean DD?

I just called to post, they told that my applications reached Canada at 30 June, and -6 July there was a try to pass my documents to the office. But post officer cannot see whether it is in the office or not, but for sure it is in Sidney now!!! I am worried, how it can be. Please tell me whether this address is correct, that I sent

DD means Demand Draft.

so basically ur Application reached CIO only on July 6th which is the same date as my application reached.

FYI - the application reached on July 6th were opened last week so we can expect some response by mid sept (counting 10 weeks) or worst case sept end - this is what i am expecting.

My application reached NS on 7th July . My DD encashed 17th Aug. So your post on the average processing time is quite correct.

Now tell me - according to this - I must wait another 10 weeks for an AOR ?

Hi Nari,

That DD is encashed means that they have opened my envelope and are now reviewing the application. So the next step is that they would send me an AOR. It seems that the average time for them to issuse the AOR is 8 to 10 weeks.

I could check the status of when my application was opened as i am in canada and i have a client ID with CIC already so i can call CIC call center and get some updates.

Also i can track this online.

Now to simplesimon,

Me and you are almost on same boat, we will get some answer by sept mid - sept end.
