Btw which NOC did you apply under ? mine is 1111 and 0111.

Just for info, my brother is in Ottawa - landed there a month ago on a 3year work permit and I will visit him in Dec to get a taste of minus 30 degrees and snow brrrrrrrr.

I am in IT field, applied under NOC 2173, 38 list doesnt apply to me as i have one year work expereince in canada , Federal skilled worker 3 category

I am in vancouver, BC - the weather is a delight here.

Ok that's great about your NOC.

I visited Vancouver for 4 days in July 2006 and i loved it - very beautiful city, lots of character and my friends tell me that the weather is not as severe as other parts of Canada. Calgary or Vancouver would be my first choices for places to live in. Calgary for its large, green open spaces and slower pace / lifestyle. But initially, will go to Ottawa as family is there and will be easier to settle in with their support.

Simplesimon you received DD by email? I will receive my AOR about at the same time as you both??? about mid of September?
I applyed under 1111 as well. Where are you from, I am from Armenia.
Please let me know if will be any news, I worry a little that still there is no news from them.

Please check if your fees (Demand Draft) has been encashed , if thats encashed that will give you some satisfaction.

How can I check, I payed directly to the bank and sent the Bank cheque, what can I do?
 
Try contacting Bank , they will know if that cheque has been encahsed or not ( i guess in your case , it is bankers cheque )

I just called bank, they told me that they cannot tell me whether my cheque was enchashed or not :(

Hi Nari,

Perhaps you can wait for some time and then ask the bank again to confirm when your cheque for 550 has cleared. Although it does look like the July applications are being opened now.

Im from Kenya - NOC 1111 and 0111.

Did you call bank, and did your bank told you that it was cleared?
As I understood we applyed at the same time, and we will receive the AOR at the same time, right?

Hi Nari,

I think that encashing the cheque means that they have opened your envelope and are reviewing your application and not necessarily that you are through - but I may be wrong.

Perhaps others can comment on this.

Hopefully our AOR will be issued at the same time.

We will keep each other updated.
 
encashing cheque simply means that they have gotten value for the cheque you gave them. i.e. the cheque has cleared into their account.

The question is do they deposit your cheque in the bank regardless of whther you qualify or not ? and then if you are unsuccessful they would refund the funds to you .
