Does anyone know how to contact the Mississauga or Pretoria offices and get through to a person - either email or phone?!

Pretoria needs one final document that was sent to Mississauga and I can't figure out any way to get in touch with someone...anyone...to locate it and get it to Pretoria. Without it, we have to redo my husband's US criminal record check, which will take 4 months and will result in the expiry of his medical. We're so close to being done, this one little piece of paper can save us time, money and headache - but I feel powerless in trying to locate it and get it to the right place.

Anyone have contacts or suggestions?

I would suggest calling the call centre and keep calling until someone picks up. If you call early in the morning, you can usually get through. I will see what i know about case specific enquiry in mississauga. Hope it works and things go speedily for you.

Thanks for that advice to call early! Was on the phone at 7am this morning and got to talk to a real person. Unfortunately, they didn't have the information we needed so we're looking at another 4-5 month wait.

Beauchemin - I am most intersted in your post - thank you. I would love to learn more if you could share - as I submitted a declaration forfeiting the right to sponsor non dependent children and was told that they have to be incouded.

Were you able to exclude them using this method and if so, did the CIC first push-back etc? Anything yu can share will help - many sleepless nights I am afraid. Including last one! I am glad things have worked out for you and thanks -

Here is a tip for people whose spouse has a non-accompanying dependent for which you are unable to obtain a medical/passport photo due to reasons such as no contact, no custody.

Have your spouse provide a statutory declaration or certified letter stating the following:
1) The circumstances surrounding their inability to obtain the documentation
2) Details of their efforts to obtain the documentation
3) That they understands this mean they will not be able to sponsor the dependent at a later time, no matter what change of circumstances
4) that they wish to continue with your application

Save yourself some time, and include the letter upfront, instead of waiting for CIC to ask for it.

We never got one! We rarely got anything from Pretoria, only emails when they wanted something! They NEVER responded to any of our emails about anything!! We just had to wait and wait and wait!

Honestly, you probably won't get any answers if you call or email them - they have loads of paperwork and are very unlikely to sort through to give you an answer - best bet - call or visit your MP's office - and tell them your situation and see if they can call on your behalf and get some info. That's what we had to do regarding getting some sort of acknowledgement that they had received the documents they requested of us, as they weren't responding to our emails! My MP's office was amazing, and had answers for me within 5 days. Give it a shot, especially if it will ease your mind in this ridiculous process!! Good luck! =)

Thanks for the info. My husband got an AOR from Pretoria and I thought it seemed a little off from what I had read. Time will tell if its a good sign or not!!

Hope life in Canada has been good to you and your partner! Feel free to check in once in awhile!

AOR is good news! Signs of life out of Pretoria!!! Hang in there, am sure it will happen soon enough! Hopefully you will hear in the coming months, esp before your medicals expire!! Keep us all posted!

Great news! My husband got his passport and visa today. We booked his flight this morning and he'll be a Canadian resident in a few weeks. What a relief!
