Applications for Inland Family Sponsorship- Aug 2024- inquiries

Hello, I submitted an application to sponsor my husband in August 2024. It's an inland family sponsorship.
Just wondering if anyone else applied around that time and what your status currently is?

My husband is 'out of status' so I know that will be a hiccup for us, but he was asked to complete biometrics at the end of November.
I did send an inquiry asking if we had received AOR yet, which we technically haven't. I cannot link his application to anything. The only way I have figure out to track is the 'Application Status Tracker'. It shows Biometrics as complete, Background Verification is 'In Progress' (since the beginning literally) and Eligibility and Medical Exam are 'not started'.

A long time ago, I sponsored someone else, but used a lawyer. This time I am doing it independently.

Would love to know how others are making out. When his application was originally submitted, it was an 8 month processing time. I know currently it states 24 months.

If anyone can shed some light or can recommend something I can do, it would be much appreciated. We are feeling defeated not knowing when he has friends who have already completed their medical.

Out of status is not a big deal . For your eligibility not to have started means it will take a while . You can link your application to your gc key using the PA UCI and application number. Get the sponsor's tracker up and running it will tell if you have received aor. Some applicants do not receive aor . I applied September 20 and I did not receive aor or aip but both my PA eligibility and sponsor's eligibility are complete.

It will not allow me to link the application after I created an account. Not sure if it's because it's not an express entry application? When I use the 'scroll down' Inland Family Sponship or PR is not an option.

I am the sponsor, how can I get a tracker up and running?

So you don't see family class( spouses ) as one of the options to pick? I am not sure of this scroll down you are referring to .

To register the sponsor for an ircc tracker account all you have to do is use the sponsor's UCI and the application number to register the sponsor

no, it doesn't allow me to link. Even when I try choosing different ways like either the File number and UCI or name, passport.. I have tried every combination and filled in all fields. Just to confirm, the question where it asked 'how many people are included in this application' I would only be entering the Principal Applicant and his dependant daughter (even though its stated that she will not be accompanying him)

In the tracker, it does list her name (the dependant) but only has 'application received' with not other updates. no request for biometrics etc....but my husbands tracker has all the steps from Aug when the documents were received, in sept we were notified that his passport wasn't accepted as it was expired, so we got that fixed and submitted within the 30days (Oct) and then November was biometrics but it's been crickets for the past 3 months. not sure what to make of it. I did submit an inquiry asking if he had received AOR, but the response was:
Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
We verified the information on file and can confirm that the responsible office did not send the Acknowledge of Receipt (AOR) yet. In the meantime, we are pleased to inform you that everything appears to be in order with the application.
Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

so, i take that statement as all is OK for the moment....just curious as to other peoples experiences I guess of if there is something that I am missing

You and your current spouse both have a long and complicated history with IRCC which may be why you are facing a delay.
Possibly....with his, I don't think it is as bad as I thought with his first wife application (I remember your screen name and I know you have participated in many questions Ive asked over the past 5 years) I don't think it made it passed the initial stages of having a completed application.

Your application is non routine. Prepare for maybe an interview you can look up the etobicoke forum here for more information on what to kinda expect

What do you mean by non routine . Sorry I am very tensed and where can I find the forum
There is no need to stress yourself . Did you file with a lawyer or consultant? Etobicoke does not mean it will be refused from the get go . Obviously I do not know your situation but people have got their pr after getting their application sent to Etobicoke office. Non routine just means that standard processing time does not apply to your application
