smallduck,

I saw your history on the left pane... and I just wanna say - Yes! I can join you to land on July 2011 if everything goes well! That's also my plan of landing. Go back to US the next day and just fully transfer to Canada by 2014! :D
I would be happy to have you joined somehow ;). But I'm not gonna be back here in US. I start looking for job in Can and if thing turns out well, you know what I mean :D.

Profesional1 had addressed all your questions but I just want to add something that makes sense to me. I the DMP back at your native country would(could)n't want to send results to Ottawa office but local office. It's reasonable and have your wife pick up the results and send by herself.
If the passport can not be send via courier mail, the only way to send the passport out is to "escort" it by herself. Anyway, you can have her passport stamp at later date (after you have yours done).
That's what I thought about your case :).
I don't believe these might be true. The DMP will not provide the results to the applicant. Also, passports of all dependents must be stamped together, that is what is mentioned in instructions. So, I don't think there is an option of having the spouse's passport stamped later.

That is completely true,

As garian4u, said,

Under no circumstances the DMP is allowed to give the results to the applicant or any other party than CIC. You will find these information written in the medical request instructions sent to you by Buffalo along with the medical request.

If the DMP in your home country refuses to send it to Ottawa, it will eventually be delivered to the Buffalo office (based on the file number, visa office name processing the application,) it just may take a little longer to be delivered to Buffalo.

There will be more than one DMP in your country, try more than one before she does the test to see what they respond regarding sending the results to Ottawa directly, not to the CIC medical center serves your home country.

Even the passports have to be sent together for visa stamping, this information will be in the passport request letter sent to you via email in the following link:

"Please ensure that the passport of the principal applicant and all accompanying dependants are brought in together."

Why will the DMP refuse to send to Ottawa? That's clearly what has been asked of them in the medical request. All DMPs will be aware of this requirement.

My wife did her medicals in India and the DMP asked if they could send the results to ND consulate. Later we realized, this was because the DMP usually processes medicals for applicants that have ND as their visa office. Ours was Buffalo and therefore an exception case for the DMP. When we explained that, they had no issues in sending the results directly to Ottawa. I paid extra courier charges, though.

Yes, i know that it is normal to send it to Ottawa in the above case, but i heard of some cases where the DMP refused to do so, maybe because of not having enough knowledge of the system.

I remember one guy in this forum "in Cnada applicant", said that the DMP in canada refused to send his results to the UK CIC health department where his application being processed "London visa office", instead, he sent it to Ottawa, but it arrived eventually to the London visa office.

Just incase if the DMP in his home country takes a similar attitude, it will not be a problem at all because it is gonna be delivered to Ottawa eventually.

smallduck. Everyone will have some bit of knowledge, and we are here to share exactly what we know. No one is Champion or junior here. At one point, I had waited to apply for the FBI, thinking that it should be valid for 3 months prior to sending full docs to Buffalo. Pasi had to correct me, but I had already made the mistake and lost 2.5 months of submission time because of that. So, we shouldn't hold information with us, but share all that we know. But, any time we feel that anything might be incorrect, we need to call that out, so that someone else doesn't fall in trouble. Basically, you will get more to contribute as you come across more instances of this sort, where we were not clear before we heard it from others. Keep going :D

There you go, you finally made it, your wait is over.

Congratulations, and wish you a great life in canada.

By the way, are you going to go to Buffalo in person to get the visa stamped ? or send it via mail or courier ?

Anyway, wish you the very best of luck.
