Pasi said:Good morning Friends, I have an update. My landing process is done. Last night I landed in Toronto. Process is pretty much simple and straight forward. I am sure lot of people here have already shared their landing experience. So I ll try and make it short.
1. Just after landing, we ll be passing through a customs counter where we have to declare that we are carrying funds more than $10000 CAD. No other checking here. No checking for the money as well. I had it as travellers cheques for $11000 and $1000 in cash.
2. Next is the immigration counter. Once we tell them we are here for landing, they ll direct us to a different counter. The officer here will ask for our COPR form and our passport. He does his work there and after 5-10 mins of typing, told me the magical words "Welcome to Canada. As of today, you are a resident of Canada". . He also told me my PR card will be coming in
3. Next is the customs officer. This is the person who ll check for our B4 forms for the goods accompanying and goods to follow. He was impressed by the paper work I had done with the forms. He just signed and sealed all of them and did not ask to open my box.
Thats it. I was given one more welcome kit and shown my way into Toronto. My uncle was waiting outside to pick me. Now I am at his place enjoying the weekend !!!
Last but not least, A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL MY FRIENDS HERE.. I am not going to mention any names, everyone of you here has been helping me in one or the other way. My best wishes to everyone to get into Canada soon. Please feel free to post your queries. I would try my best to give you the answers. Thanks again! Have a good weekend!
here are my detail:garian4u said:spur230, where is your case being processed - Buffalo or New York? Also, when exactly was your full application received and when was your file transferred (if transferred)?
I was about to ask Pasi the same question, however to my best guess, there won't be any problems with I-94 then. We - legally immigrant in US - can go to Can/Mex for less than 30 days and coming back without a Visa. The custom will be checking I94 and I20 and/or other equivalent documents.garian4u said:Hey Pasi... Good Luck man. How was your landing experience and how's the weather there like? More importantly let me know, if your I-94 changes when you return back to the US.
I call some offices recommended in the CIC website and they required me to have the Med Request first, then I have to my appointment with them (most likely it takes one to two weeks). So I won't be bothered too much by the wasted time. We have been waiting for roughly a year already .garian4u said:Anil_Toronto, great news. You did a good thing of doing the medicals immediately. It took me 16 days to do the medicals after I got my request. That's pure lost time. And don't rest till yo uknow that your DMP has mailed out the results. Typically they say 4-5 days but it takes longer for most. My DMP had said that lab results come in 4-5 days and since the doctor will be on vacation, so it will go out at most in 7-8 days. It took them 14 calendar days to post them and I followed up with them regularly. They also charged me extra for the 1 day FedEx service that I requested, but it was worth it. That ways, my results reached the next day and I could salvage some of the lost time. Just sharing my experience
Congrat Pasi . I would be happy to hear those magical words next year ... Keep updated here coz everybody needs you.Pasi said:Good morning Friends, I have an update. My landing process is done. Hi Garian4u,garian4u said:tamkah. Congratulations on your landing. I have a question although I am very far out in this process. Supposing we have mentioned in our PR application that we intend to live in Toronto, can we land in say Vancouver, when we get the PR? Or do we have to necessarily land in Toronto as mentioned in the application form? Also, do we have to start living in Toronto only or we can start our life in Canada anywhere irrespective of what is mentioned in the application form.
Congrats. Welcome to Canada.Pasi said:Good morning Friends, I have an update. My landing process is done. Last night I landed in Toronto. Process is pretty much simple and straight forward. I am sure lot of people here have already shared their landing experience. So I ll try and make it short.

!. Take it to your bank for notorizationAvayaLenovo said:Hello guys!
Congratulations to those who have landed in Canada!
Finally, after 4 months of gruesome waiting, I received a communication from Buffalo office. However, they are asking for original/certified true copy of (1) 2009 Tax Return (2) Proof of funds. My first question is where can I have my tax returns be copy-certified? And do you think a bank statement printed from the bank's website a sufficient proof of my available funds? I wonder why they are asking for proof of funds when I already attached this with my complete application package. Maybe they want to know if my funds are still intact? Anybody who experienced the same?
Thank you in advance to all of you.... God bless to us all!
Hey,PND said:It looks like many people got their VISA and even landed in Canada !! Congrats to all of you !! I am still waiting to hear from them :-(
Here is the current status -
We received your application for permanent residence on September 14, 2009.
We transferred your application to the Buffalo office on November 12, 2009.
On April 21, 2010 I received a mail saying a file has been created in Buffalo Office.
I am getting impatient for the call. Do you know if the Medical call will come along with the request for additional fees of $490 as I didn't submitted it yet. Thanks for all your inputs guys.
Yes, you can do that anytime.PND said:Thanks beauhoe ! Can I send it separately even though they have not asked yet ! do you know how much more time it will take to hear for Med's cal.(approx)
