Hello Anil,
Sorry I may have missed your previous post(s) about your passport problem. What is this lamination issue anyway? Is it with brand new passports?

Thanks.

Sorry friends ...... today seems my day ........ with so many posts .... :P :P ..... I am missing Indira ...... 8) :o

Hey coolbreeze - It's basically that the PP lamination (on the biodata pages - 1st and last sheet of PP) gets peeled off ... ... due to the weather (humidity) ..... handling (sweat, rain). It's actually PP coming in contact with water in any form ....... It can be 5% or 50% .... not acceptale by Canadian authorities / VOs. Won't usually happens with new Passports!! So chill .... coolbreeze ..... ;D

Cheers, Anil

Dear Cay_sha

Maggie is from NDVO!! So if everything is normal, then the applicants from NDVO gets all the Document Requests at one go .... :o ....like MR + RPRF + PPR + PCC request (optional) .......
We have to send it through post / courier only. We don't have a drop box and can't hand over personally!! ... That way Warsaw and London VOs are better ...... (I am talking about handling of PP only ..... :P :P)..........

Cheers, Anil

Yeah, I prefer London's method. I mean NDVO method shaves a couple of weeks off the process, potentially - but I'd hate to be without my passport for 3+ months.

With London system you do have the option to post, courier or drop-box your passports, and they get mailed back to you in 6 weeks. But there is the option to deliver your passports in person and collect them two weeks later (we are collecting ours next Thursday).

Wayne.

Hello All,

Sorry for not being part of this thread since long, I was not been able to log in to this thread due to some personal reasons, I haven't get any update till now, the last thing i get from visa office is AOR dated 9th march,2011.

Still my E-CAS status shows "RECEIVED BY VISA OFFICE", and my address is there from the day it appears (i.e. never disappear once it is started showing).

Regards,
Rupal Gandhi

Hey bro
I am really sorry the way things are turning out for you!! Yes it IS stupid lamination ..... >:( ....Same happened to me and Ravi (dsvrk) .... and to CB also. But we all are from NDVO and if I am not wrong even you may be having an Indian PP. So there seems to be a genuine problem with our PPs ...... :'( ...... Not going much deep into this ... we had only one solution --> getting a new / fresh passport. Here in India there is no other way to so called fix the thing (PP) except getting the new one. Please contact our embassy in UK ...and get the thing fixed or replaced / issued with a fresh one. ....All the best ...Take care.
Cheers, Anil

Thanks Anil, I have an Indian passport. I will go to our embassy here and get it sorted. When you. Got a new passport I presume you had a new number. What are the implications of that? Do we have to fill up the forms again or any such complication?

Hi friends,

An update from London VO.....

My Address has disappeared since last night.........

Fingers crossed............ ???

Plz pray for me.....

Malik

Sorry to hear about this, but you did mention it was a likelyhood. It will all be alright but it just means an annoying delay.
Might it not be simpler to get new passports from the Indian embassy in London? Might be worth a trip to London to sort it out and you could hand deliver the passports to CHC London at the same time (they have a drop-box) if you could sort it out that way?
Wayne.
No worries Wayne, as you said i was half expecting this. delay is no problem for me, I was never in a hurry. My meds were done in may and so I have until next may to get the landing sorted. I can get the passports sorted in the Indian embassy in Dublin but the problem of trip to London is that I will have to stay there for 2 weeks as my pp will be with them and I will not be able to come back to Dublin. I don't know anyone there and two week hotel etc will be too expensive.
