Excellent news :) Good to see Buffalo moving.

I do not think you can use X-rays since I presume they would not have been done at a CIC-approved hospital (usually the DMP has a hospital they work with for this).

The usual procedure is to get your medicals done now and then get your wife's + baby's medicals done after the baby is born. No sense is risking an X-ray now since you will have to have medicals for the baby anyway, so you will have to get another set of medicals done later on anyway.

Best of luck with your application.

Wayne.

Thanks a lot wayne! Here is the one of FAQ from paris VO which allows X-rays taken six months before pregnancy and i think i have heard a case in BUffalo (from trackitt, i guess) that has used this successfully. DO you think its better to ask VO about this so hat we don't spend money on medicals. Also, since these medicals are submitted to Ottawa, mat be we shd contact Ottawa office.

Is a pregnant woman obliged to have any X-rays done.or can she be exempted?

A chest x-ray is an obligatory part of the medical results. Pregnant women may submit a chest x-ray taken within the 6 months preceding the start of the pregnancy so long as the applicant's identity and the date of the x-ray are printed on the image itself. If such x-ray is not available, there are two options: you may decide to have the x-ray done with a protective apron or wait until after the child is born. If you chose the second option, please let us know, mentioning the expected due date. Do not forget to inform us of the birth of the baby by sending us a copy of the birth certificate.

Dear Johnyusa

Congratulations!!! So happy for you.......

Let me ask a stupid question Johny'usa' , do you live in USA???
Did you get Medical Request by regular mail or courier??
What is the date in your Ecas for reviewing and started processing ?

Please update us.

Thrilled about your Medical, beacuse last week mine also went in process but fingers crossed for normal mail delivery from CANADA POST.

Let me have a beer for you now!!! ;-)

thanks
entemaria
thanks entemeria, i hope you get ur medicals soon.

And i am combining here all the answers to ira, avi and other buffalo applicants. Please let me know if you have other questions.

Yes, i am living in USA (originally from India), so it was a regular mail through US postal services. My ecas states that my application went in process on May 27th and they have asked to submit the required documents in 60 days, i guess i have to send PCCs and RPRF to buffalo and medicals to Ottawa through DMP.

I am still figuring out about the X-rays for my wife since it can delay the process by about 8-9 months, i think i have seen a case from Buffalo where somebody successfully submitted the X-rays which were taken before pregnancy but not able to find that case now. I think it was on trackitt. In my another reply to wayne, I have also posted a FAQ link from Paris VO which states the similar scenario. So, keeping my fingers crossed and would appreciate any help from the forum members who can provide help with this matter.

And Entemeria, i appreciate your drinking beer for me, may i know which beer was that, i hope its my favourite beer.

Johnyusa,

There is no mention of the 6 month prior pregnancy on the Operating Handbook. I would send Buffalo an email and see what they reply. Please check:

I am preparing my file for july 2011. I read someone's post on this forum that they are also including notarised photocopy of their passport pages which has travel entry and exit stamps.

Has anyone else done this?

I am a bit hesitant as I have never read this before and also i have extensive travel history so getting so many pages notarised will be very expensive.

Hi - certainly it's worth querying if you can use this, since it will save you some money. Has you wife undergone medicals (minus the xray)? If so, and you are able to use this xray - then you'll just have your baby's medicals to do later on.

Although given that a DMP is usually tied to a particular hospital I am surprised that will allow x-ray results if the hospital isn't associated with a CIC-approved DMP, but I would try to confirm this with your visa office! :)
