i took ielts in the year 2009may and got 7 bands 14 pts
again i took ielts last month but i got 6.5 only
now with the changes of rules can i take adv of my old ielts

As per this newly announced regulation you can as long as your test's 2-yr validation period is not over.So that's excellent news for you!

What is your first test expiry date?

Processing times for federal skilled worker applications processed by visa offices outside Canada
The tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices outside Canada. The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between October 1, 2009, and September 30, 2010. Processing times are subject to change.

Processing times for applications received on or after June 26, 2010 are unavailable as sufficient final decision data does not exist.

Well,so your submission must be received by the CIO, before MAY 2011. Relax dear. You can enjoy the new annoncement to the most.

EFFECTIVE December 23, 2010: If you are submitting a language test with your application, the results are now valid for 2 years from the time you took the test, instead of 1 year. This change applies to Federal skilled worker, Canadian Experience Class and Business Class Immigrants.

Processing times generally mean the length of time it takes from arrival at visa office to issuing your visa ready for landing.

Please note that the link you have provided is an immigration lawyer's complete GUESS at how long the processing times will be for post-June-26 applicants. Tbh I doubt they can guess any better than we can, so I'd prefer to see some proper timelines reported from members of this thread with regards AOR from vo and med requests before I start my own guesses!

But can you tell me when VO can contact me ? i mean at least how many month they will take? bcos when i contact CIC they told me that they had transfer my file to VO on the same day they issue PER. and its now one month passed. Do you have any idea how long it will take they to contact us.

I have applied under NOC 2121. I have applied with documents including PCC and IELTS result. I haven’t submitted birth certificate of my husband. Instead of that I have submitted his school leaving certificate. Without birth certificate they will send our application back?
I have submitted my photographs as per the norms given by CIC but I haven’t written the date of photographs taken on the back side of photograph. My agent told me that it is compulsory to write the date on which the photographs have been taken. do they can consider school leaving certificate valid?

It's been more than a month since i received my PER (23rd Nov). No further updates yet.
No update on the eCAS also. It says the page was last updated on 2010-08-05.
Which means the information isn't upodated for last more than almost 5 months...
This is strange..or am I checking it at wrong place

If you see the bottom left hand side, you will see Last modified on date.

If you look at the end of the page (left side) there will be month and year written.

The changes are from Dec-10.

Some great new info being posted all around, thanks guys! The IELTS update is certainly a welcome one, it makes simple sense to accept it for a 2 year period since the results are themselves valid for that long.

I bet the applicants next year will have an overall much more streamlined process than us, with the new rules I guess we are the (enterprising?) guinea pigs. ;D
