hello,
Seniors ,,i have 2 questions,

My wife is an Engineer and has 16 years of study, how many points will we earn for education,,,,,,20 0r 22 ??

Secondly, she has 2 years working experience,in those 2 years,1 year while she was in her final year of Engineering and the other year was when she passed out.Means she was working while she was in her final year.My question is,,,,Can we get the points of 2 years or 1 year.
Dear Sunny,

As per the requirement list if you are having regular studies for full 16 years then you will get 22 points. But on the experience part you have not mention that weather you wife is having part time job for first year or full time job. If this is full time job then what about your studies? there is a question in your statement. Please check with yourself again.

Personally I think CIO will be open for business as usual next week at least Weds, Thurs and Friday. Maybe also Tuesday is they had Friday and Monday as their Christmas day breaks.

However, they may be on a reduced stuff since some CIO officers will probably have taken the week off from their own annual holidays.

So I think we will see some PERs, but at a reduced rate. Remember we have 3rd and 4th September where nobody from our list had applications received on those days, which may explain the silence in the last few days of last week.

Wayne, I really hope you are right. As far as I remember though, someone on the forum had mentioned that the 4th was also a holiday, it was a long weekend. So if that is right then they've spent all of last week dealing only with the remaining 2nd and 3rd of Sept applicants.

Anyway, I really don't mind that just as long as we all get our PERs this week. Also, this could PERHAPS be an indication of the increase in number of applicants in Sept compared to Aug.

Dear Cur-Rozen ..... It's eligibility for CRNE ... related to her profession. It has nothing to do with immigration process ....

Application processing time for Canada immigration becoming fast

Canada, 24th December: The immigration processing time for Canada has become fast due to the efforts of the Citizenship and Immigration Canada in the recent times.

The immigration department of Canada, CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada), has made this possible through a series of changes in the past couple of years.

Earlier, it normally used to take many years in getting your Canada visa. However, the efforts by the CIC have significantly brought down the waiting times for immigration application processing.

Let’s see the average processing time for Canada immigration applications after the changes by the CIC on 27th February 2008---

A.) Processing time for Canada immigration applications submitted in Canada----(PAPER APPLICATION)

Type of application Processing Times

Canada visitor visa 115 days
Canada Work Permit (Same employer) 94 days
Canada Work Permit (new employer) 31 days
Canada Study Permit 58 days
Canada Off-Campus Work Permit 31 days
Protected Person Status Document 16 days

B.) Processing time for Canada immigration applications submitted in Canada----(ONLINE APPLICATION)

Type of application Processing Times

Canada visitor visa 48 days
Canada Work Permit (Same employer) 48 days
Canada Work Permit (new employer) 48 days
Canada Study Permit 48 days
Canada Off-Campus Work Permit 20 days
Protected Person Status Document Not applicable

The application processing time for the economic class from Europe was around 44 months for applications received in the UK prior to changes introduced in 27th February 2008. However, applications received after this period took an average of 13 months. The average processing time for applications received in Germany (Berlin) is 12 months now as compared to the time of 42 months before the introduction of changes.

And the processing time for Canada immigration applications received in China reduced from 42 months prior to the changes by the CIC to barely 9 months. Processing time for applications received in Manila (the Philippines) has been reduced from 70 months before 27th February 2008 to 11 months after the changes.

The average processing time for Canada immigration applications received in Cairo(Egypt) has come down from 63 months to 19 months, and that of applications received in Buffalo(US) has become just 17 months from the earlier time of 41 months.

Processing times generally mean the length of time it takes from arrival at visa office to issuing your visa ready for landing.

Please note that the link you have provided is an immigration lawyer's complete GUESS at how long the processing times will be for post-June-26 applicants. Tbh I doubt they can guess any better than we can, so I'd prefer to see some proper timelines reported from members of this thread with regards AOR from vo and med requests before I start my own guesses! :)
