I strongly agree with you. It should not take more than 6 to 8 months.
I thing even CIC also trying to bring the time lines to that level. That's why Fast Track.
Now this also some applications may reach 2 years with this delay.
CIC should take some real action on this.

It is a horrible situation.

Immigration applications should not take more than 6 months if the countries want to get the best out of the applicants.

It is in everybody's interest to know if they are in or out early enough. The delays causes everyone to live in animated suspension.

By the time you spend so many years to get your visa, your enthusiasm becomes seriously diminished and the excitement is lost.

I do hope they will improve the process. It is more than just getting a visa but more of being able to take advantage of the opportunities awaiting to create a decent life.

Just got confirmation from the DMP today that my medicals were sent off to NDVO on Feb 13th and have reached there Feb 16th, 4 pm... And about the DD, as of today, it has not been encashed...

Suggestion: You can land in Toronto and then decide. Cost of living in Vancouver is more than Toronto, they say.

We checked with our bank today morning and they confirmed that our RPRF was encashed on 15 Feb 2012 ;D
