I agree.. Planning is much required.

I didnt spend too much time in India when I was an adolescent. Came to US directly for masters without even a break in my career. Since then I was away from india. So, I dont know much about rules in india on how to lead a family.. I just grew up having fun with friends & family with what ever we had (we were poor). Why I say this is becoz, I want to let you know that there is a check list here that you can follow and get settled easily. I dont think it is so straight in India. So, settling down here is much easier than compared to india (if you are new to the country without any one there).

So, what I would say is Dont worry and every thing will be fine.

satya.

Thanks for these words. Encouraging to us - my wife and me and probably to lot more reading through it too!! :)

LOLzzzz... thanks, satya!! But I think we have been tested enough by NDVO too... I am an applicant from Oct 1, 2010... Got 2nd AOR on April 7, 2011 and E-CAS was RBVO since then... it just moved on Dec 5, 2011 to IP... that is after 8 long months of RBVO... leave aside the 6-month wait before that :P :P :P

Anyway... as always... no key except patience and hope that any morning can be different :)

Wishing luck to all and me :P

Hi

I am a March 21 2011 applicant NDVO. Received PER on 13 April 2011. RBVO 8 May 2011. (Did not send PCCs from five countries with application, but sent them to NDVO before their expiration date....i.e 3 months from date of issue). In Process 10 Oct 2011. Medicals/RPRF/passport requested 12 October... due 25 November 2011. new PCCs not requested so I guessed that the PCCs I sent without them asking for it were accepted 9i did not want to go thru the hassle of getting the PCCs again so I sent them without them asking for it and within their valisidity date) Visa issued 5 Dec 2011. So I applied to NDVO my country of nationality but currently resident in the UAE. I had sent my passport with a friend to India who delivered it to my parents. I sent along a cover letter saying that I had authorized my friend to carry my passport to my parents and that I authorized my father to send my passport to the VO and for the VO to mail my passport to my father's address. On 2 December CIC website says medical received and then on 8 December decision made. 14 December my passport with visa as well as my original PCCs and IELTS results were returned back. I am writing this because there has been confusion in the past about sending passports to India .... none of the courrier companys in the UAE would carry my passport to NDVO. I also did request the VO that I needed to go home for Christmas and would appreciate it if they could send my passport in a timely manner which they did.

Please mail me if you have any questions.
Thanks to all on this forum for sharing their experiences which helped me a lot especially Mitali for the unconditional help.

satyasuman the the parameter for the patience varies with time and space. if you are regular with the forum you must be aware that files at NDVO and Buffalo moves with different speed. your advise is more of sarcasm than a sincere one.

OK....nothing to worry.....u were never in RBVO stage before....directly ur eCas status showed IN PROCESS....when CIO completed eligibilty review...they changed your status to IN PROCESS instead of "CIO Eligibilty Review complete"

now they have rectified it...( i guess by NDVO)

i think ur file has been looked upon and NDVO had updated something and as well corrected your status.

Ur status will once again change to IN PROCESS after VO Eligibility Review is complete.

mitali, you are wrong, you cannot give post box no for PR CARD
after landing you can move to any province other then quebec.
cheers
No, you cannot give PO BOX number, but if you open one with UPS they will give you an actual address and your box will show as apt number. Anyway, IMO it is not worth the risk.

I believe Canadian PR gives you the right the live and work anywhere in Canada. I know you cannot land in Quebec and give them a Quebec address during landing procedures, that is if you went through FSW; it can complicate things. But if you land in Toronto let's say, you get your PR card there, then you can freely move/work anywhere in Canada, Quebec as well. Same thing works with Quebec applicants. This I know for a fact as my friend, a Quebec applicant , moved from Montreal to Vancouver weeks after landing. That's where he found a job to match his expectations.
Quebec has won the right to choose its applicants, they do not have the right to discriminate among current PR holders, future Canadian citizens. That's how I see things after doing obvious research about Canada. I admit, I could be wrong.

Thanks Mitali. Now, I couldn't help wondering why everyone talks about maple leaf on the visa. I was shocked and surprised to see that rather than maple leaf, it is an image of a man riding a horse that's on the visa! :D :D

Hehehehe... ;D ;D new development at CIC....will have to double check with Yawanika if she got a "man riding a horse"...interesting 8)

I think the man and horse were always there in the background...the Maple leaves are on the left upper corner.

Congrats CanadaJimmy. Finally some good news from Buffalo! Did you get your MR request via email or regular mail? Also, did it come after any enquiry or email to Buffalo from you?

It came via Regular Mail... in fact it had to, since the form included has one of the photos I sent stuck to it.

No email or enquiry, other than the threatening one I made at the end of November that seemed to get them moving on my file.
