Hi kkr,

Just curious to know if your employer got the call in English language or your regional language.
I had the doubt bcoz if my employer is not fluent in English then what will they do?

hi angel

what language they speak should not be a prob, but what they speak about you is the area of concern.
CIC/NDVO ppl know they are making a call to an indian so they will find a way accordingly

Hi there,
I got my PR on 17th September,2010 alongwith my husband who lives in USA.After getting it,I sent my hubby's passport through courier. But unfortunately, the passport was put on hold at Mumbai custom office with the fact that Indian passports can not be couriered like this and it is illegal. My hubby and I are deeply worried about its consequences.
Here I want to ask to the experienced members of this forum that what will the custom office take action against me and my husband? What should be done at our side so that we can get my hubby's passport back?
and last but not least, what are the safe ways to send him passport to USA so that he can come back to India and can celebrate this Diwali with us?
Pls help me guys it's really a crucial period.Thanks.

Hi VVatka,

If you happen to see this thread...hopefully. I have post the same on our other thread.

Hi Vakta,

By now you already know that Indian passports cannot leave/enter the borders of Indian soil.

I am doing some research on the topic...in the meantime you go thru the following information. I will keep adding information for you.

My suggestion is to contact the Customs office ASAP. The penalty for such event is anything between Rs 5000 to Rs 50,000 and 2 yr prison OR BOTH

You and probably also your husband will be implicated but dont worry...since you did not know that sending /receiving Indian passports in and out of India is Illegal you may plead your case accordingly with the Customs. Where do you live Vakta? Is is possible to contact the people as suggested below...the people might have left but the Offices are still viable...try contacting them....or contact the # which came with the Customs office letter.

Hi Mcintosh, Louise, Mitali, Canadestine, and otheres
please give your thoughts on it.

Today morning i checked my e case status, There were address missing. does it means they checking my application? I asked to my lawyer about it, he said they will send you Acknowledge of Receipt.

so far my timeline is:-
Application reached:- May 05 FSW:2 BUffalo
PER received :- June 16
Status changed From ERCNS to RBVO:- July 21
Now on Sept 21 Address disappeard Does it means AOR?

Thanks

Well, I think I'm one of the few applicants who's address has never been disapeared from ECAS!
It just changes, that's all.
There are applicants who's address disapeared without any change on ECAS, and there are applicants with changes on ECAS so....
...I'm sorry but I really don't know if they are working on your file!
Just wait and see, I suggest...

Kind regards,
Louise!

In exactly one month it will be a year since my application was received by CIO. I have not heard anything from Buffalo since my file was forwarded to them last February. My address disappeared from ECAS last month but it still says received by visa office. I requested CAIPS notes but they said they need more time to get information on my file; it's been two months now. Finally, I emailed Buffalo last week and they responded saying that my application is in process and they cannot tell me when a decision will be made. I am praying for a medical request as it will be a ray of hope that we're getting closer. Looking at the timelines of other post June 26 Buffalo applicants the medical request should have been here by now. I am not sure what to do other than wait however seeing how my friends who applied under CEC are getting their PR in record time, I am considering applying under CEC next month if I don't hear from Buffalo. One year with no word is too much.

Sorry to hear about your slow processing...
But I see that you are a FSW2 applicant, and knowing from my own experience it will take a while for CIO/CIC/VO to process your file!
There are a lot of unvalid joboffers going on and they just have to double check everything...
Too bad for us, but there's nothing to do than just....wait! ;)
Good luck and take care!

Kind regards,
Louise!

AOR: 29th August
