All you need to do is calm down and wait!
Every time you contact them with Case specific e-mails is setting back your and others' application processing times and you have been contacting them a lot!
I agree they seem a bit confused, but every time you contact them a different person gets out the file and has to look over it and decipher what the notes mean and then communicate it to you. This means that sometimes CIo do not give you the corect information when you contact them.
It is best to just let them get on with it!
It is clear from the information that they have already given, though, that your file is safely at CIO and they have been looking at it, as they have given you a file number.
This is obviously valid as you have been able to check ECAS, which is good news.
They clearly have put something on ECAS that is incorrect but ECAS has been wrong for lots of us at times throughout this process, so do not worry! They get it sorted eventually
Your application is safe and is just going through the eligibility review. When it is done, they will send this result by e-mail, not normal mail.
Some while after that the status will change on ECAS but not right away, so do not worry if you get the e-mail but ECAS stays the same. It will change eventually.
After that, do not be surprised if you have to wait some weeks until your file is showing as at the Visa office - ours took
nearly two months to show as RBVO.
Then expect to wait even longer before ECAS shows you as IN PROCESS. We waited 7 months from PER to IN PROCESS!
The more you contact CIO, the more confused you will be and the more stressed you will get.
The name of the game here is patience and it isn't easy for any of us, but if you keep contacting CIO about your file when there isn't anything wrong you will just make yourself worried and stop the Officers from getting on with your processing.
With CIO, no news is good news at this stage, I think. If they were going to reject you they would have told you with a NER, so be happy.
Be patient and wait and watch ECAS and your e-mail so that you see the change when it comes and can celebrate!
