Although you're not attending the one in London, are you? In which case the tutors will be different and possibly the structure could be slightly different. But it will be interesting to see how the courses differ, if at all.

One unrelated question I have about Dubai - a friend of my wife is contemplating moving there (she is a teacher). Any idea what the visa system is like there? Does a UK citizen require a permit or visa to get work there?

So I don't think there is a problem with your particular case. Speed of visa officers and their workloads prior to receiving your case probably play a part, and regrettably that is nothing but luck. And once in process the complexity of your case (number of countries lived in, amount of documents to check etc) will play a big part in how long it takes to get through background document checks to medical requests.

Hopefully you will hear something soon, and I realise it is frustrating, but please have a little more patience

Whilst there are all these people behind you still not heard anything, I don't see what value mailing your visa office will be - since time taken responding to you with "we're still looking at your case" is time not spent actually looking at someone's case.

I understand (& fully agree) that WE are really worried / frustrated about the working procedure including working culture and the delays ..... I too wonder about this indifference between various VOs ..... BUT as per my guess CIIP is basically conducted for the applicants to get accustomed to the new place and the queries related to that. I have also seen somewhere (I am not able to recollect ???) .... it was mentioned that CIIP is not for Immigration (issues like PP, Visas, RPRF, PoF ..... ) related questions and they don't provide such services. I am just expressing my views & it is in no way to hurt / discourage someone .....

hi Rupesh , only our NDVO knows whose turn is next ..we are just onlookers my status is just the same as it was many moons ago, that is RBVO and yes my address is there it never disappeared.

You are absolutely right Anil, CIIP is a seminar designed to help one settle in Canada by providing useful information and resources. They have nothing at all to do with the actual processing of applicants. So if anyone has any questions related to post landing procedures, let me know.
