No its not mandatory .. but you need to send the supporting document like Grade-10 Certificate, Sworn Affidavit (supporting the SSC certificate) with one Clarification letter....this is what I did for myself...

Dear Jason,
Those born before 1972 can submit their ssc certificate carrying their dob. Those born in 72 or later must submit birth certificate.

No need to notarize Canadian documents as this will be verified by CIO.

Congratulations Malik I believe you should be able to inform your visa office about the little torn COPR . Its a required document for landing and you dont need to trave back and forth for such a long distance for a single paper. By the way, I did not get my original IELTS back from cair VO along with the package. That sucks
