Yes, that's the best thing to do now.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
Going to make a decision this weekend, going to give Royal Mail today to contact me and let me know what's going on. Although it's going to take an electronic signature at the least to give my any confidence now that they have correctly delivered the item. If they say "We delivered it but didn't get a signature" then basically they will be giving us a full refund of their Special Delivery costs AND paying for the costs of our getting fresh documents together, since I imagine as well as the PCCs cost, the bank will charge us for cancelling the old draft and issuing a new one.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Don't know if you guys have seen The Incredible Hulk but right now I am so angry I am in danger of turning green and my shirt ripping open!

Ok - I spoke to someone at customer services at Royal Mail. They say they the last place on their system they can trace our RPRF/PCCs it is when I handed the package over to the post office on Wednesday! Now they have no idea where it is!

Anyway, I explained the importance of the documents - that they contained $980 worth of bank draft, police certificates that are costly and time-consuming to get as well as several forms. I also explained that our application which we've spent a year doing could fail if CHC do not receive the items within the timeframe, and also it is next to impossible to get confirmation from them that they received the items owing to the fact they have tens of thousands of applications on the go.

He said they are investigating and that they he has escalated this to a supervisor who will contact me today.

We have a case number and I took the name of the guy I spoke to.

I am expecting a supervisor to call me back today, but if they've lost this it's not only going to add another couple of weeks delay (and run us close to the wire on our 60 days) but my wife has to get PCC again (will have to use premium service this time, I got a spare PCC when I ordered the last one), we're going to have to somehow cancel our bank draft and order another one for $980, and hope we can get a refund on the first!
Wayne,
Suggest you start on new PCC's immediately. Do not wait further for the courier to find your lost ones. Their investigations could take time and you will not be the only case. Bank drafts will not take much time to fix. In all cases, you will loose a bit of money but not much time. Get on it mate.

So sorry for you. I deeply sympathise with you!

Well, we will be $980 out of pocket since we won't get an instant refund on the other bank draft, but we will have to pay $980 + fees to get another one written. Plus the exchange rate has now moved against us so it will be even more expensive to get. My wife will have to get her photo re-signed etc over the weekend, so Monday is the earliest we can get PCC - although we can use the premium service to get them within a few days. I got a spare certificate thankfully when I ordered the last one so I don't need to get another. Re-printing the Schedule 1s is of course a small matter.

I notice CHC London DO have a phone number, might be worth trying to get through to them at lunch time and *maybe* they can tell if they received the package yesterday or not.

Wayne.
Just been reading about bank drafts - it appears they cannot just be "cancelled" like cheques. Need to actual report them as lost, and may even have to contact the police, before the bank will refund the money. Need to phone HSBC at lunch time to find out the exact procedure.

What a nightmare this day is turning into!!!!!
