Hi friends,

My wife is in Canada, on student visa since 8 months and coming back in 10 days. Can you let me know if she would need to get police clearance certificate from Canada for PR? We are awaiting medicals anytime soon....

That explains the delay in your case for getting MR.

My case is same as i have been to canada more often and extensive travel history goes for extensive background check.

anyways 12 weeks for RCMP to give police certificate (as canadian consulate will not ask you for the same but will check on it's own).

We have to arrange for PCC from all the countries where we lived for more than 6months. In your case, if she is the primary applicant, for sure you have to get it. Even if she is not a primary applicant , its good to apply for one just in case...to save time..

i working in canada right now on work permit, i applied for skilled worker program on september 2010, igot my first response from nova scotio on jan-2011 by e mail says ur application is eligible and i got file number and it says it will be forwarded to buffalo ,,,,, then after checking application status online it says now is received by visa office,,,,,,,, can u tell me how long the process?

Not sure about that. The official web site of immigration canada says that they may ask for the police certificate if they require!!! specially if the stay is in canada

I am the Feb 2011 Per applicants. hopefully mine can get into real "we start processing " as well. My ECAS has "we start processing" bug which dated the same date as the per issue date, i know that's a bug, not real processing start date. however, my status always shows " in process" from beginning till now never shows "rbvo" those kind stuff. buffalo baby, please hurry up!

Hey Barkat,
in one of the document that we rec'd with med request says something like 'do not send the PCCs before your med results' ... so pls refrain from sending yr PP/RPRF before. Here you can call up the DMP and they will let u know when exacly they have sent yr med results to CHC. Also do not forget to send yr original medical bill in the packet. Keep one photo copy of the bill for yr reference. I hope that pretty much answers yr query.

CIC has updated the cap status on the 19th April, Total Applications received is 10,840, NOC no 0631 (Restaurant and Food Service Managers) is full .

No, I didn't use email to update, I used the web form...I was talking about what usually happens when u submit the web form -it sends an automatic reply to the email address provided in the form. I didnt get that automatic email reply after submitting update thru the website form and thats why was asking if this is what happens, or if I made any mistake.

Barkat, DMP usually send your med results to CHC within 4-6 days. In our case it was sent out in 5 days.
