Hey Indira,
You can apply under the tatkal Skim and show them letter which you received from NDVO asking for new passport. In tatakl you will get new passport within 7 days.
I dont think so you will any problem in this.

There is no tatkal scheme for reissue of passport , I have checked same with the passport office. I had tried my all ways... given them visa office letter showing the urgency, taken affidavit from the authorised personal... Spoke to RPO, but nothing has worked.

Did you get 2nd AOR through Email or by postal since you mentioned that letter was dated 4th April, received 6th April?

Raj, i guess Coimbatore allows Tatkal for this.. I reissued my passport for a change of place of birth and they gave it in 7 days. I'm planning to visit the office tomorrow and see what can be done. Thanks for the documentation help, it's pretty much the same thing as with fresh passports.

Well, I second what senior members have said about completing the missing gap, it was clearly mentioned in their guide that there shouldn't be any gaps (or missing time frame) in the application or delays might occur. Therefore, just fill the missing time zone & resend it to them, I know that it's funny that they have mentioned since June 2003 rather than December 2003, I can only think that it must have been some sort of a mistake from the officer, unless June accounts for the beginning of something else in your application which might not have been very well documented (in such a case, try to get better documents for it). & You can also write the covering letter suggested by the seniors enquiring about why they asked for that specific period of time.

As for the PCCs, I guess that the best approach would be to get it as State PCCs (as long as that is possible), but if you think that that is difficult & since you already got your FBI clearance, if I were you I would send them the FBI clearance & clarify that you already got it in advance to as not to delay your application & that it covers the whole country & ask them if they still need the State ones.. I can see that in some cases, VOs might change their minds regarding their additional requirements.

I repeat, i got my passport reissued by Tatkal in just 7 days and that was in September 2010. The police verification was done a month later . I guess there is a provision, just that they are too lazy to work?

It should be simple logic to the passport office you are applying. Sometimes back the government of India had issued some kind of notification to all the passport offices to change the handwritten passports with new typed PP. In my case RPO(chandigarh) was kind enough to look into my problems with the PP.
Simply take the logic of Handwritten+the request from NDVO to the respective RPO.

Hi! I mailed my application to CIO on January 21, 2011, and on March 21, 2011 I received a NER. I am interested in applying again but I really have to wait for my documents and processing fee refund. For those who have the same scenario, do you think I will get these back from them before June? Is it correct that the cut-off of 20,000 FSW applicants and 1,000 per eligible NOC will end on June? Any particular date/s? Your reply/ies is much appreciated.

sorry to here about ur NER. u 'll not get anything back from CIO except the fees u paid .I also got NER & after doing the case specific enquiry i got the following message from CIO:
Good Morning

Applications and supporting documents are part of the permanent record for a client and must remain on file. The instruction guide for Federal Skilled Workers directs applicants to make a photocopy of the application for their records. Therefore, original documents submitted in support of the application are part of the permanent record and are not returned to the applicant.
