Hey Indira,
You are right...PCC's are more than enough...the problem here in Bangalore is, PCC's are issued by the Mini Passport seva kendra and not the regional passport office ....this is available only in bnagalore and chandigarh.....
and because of this, its mandatory to take appointment for every service.....n believe me, ppl wait from 6am outside this office....
nyways the commissioner office guys r pretty friendly here...so we might get it in about 10 days.....
but alas, i had to shell extra 3k for the PVC

Hey Rupal,

The contents of PCC and PVC are different....PVC is a more detailed explanation compared to PCC...Here in bangalore, the police commissioner office issues both PCC and PVC for immigration visa....it is mandatory to get both for immigration according to them.....but if you apply through passport office, you would get PCC alone...

I had to take both PCC and PVC because the commissioner office insisted on it.....when i told them i only needed PCC, they said they would mention in the PCC that it is not for job prupose and only for visiting visa ....hence i had to accept....i had no choice because there were no appointments b4 the 27th of april to visit passport seva kendra here in bangalore

If you manage to get PCC thats enough....PVC is more expensive too....Its abt 3000 here in bangalore whereas PCC is only 200....

Here in ahmedabad case is little different, dont know why is process different in same country?

Today i visited Police Commissioner office to ask for the procedure and they replied me that to get PVC is my right as an indian citizen. and I do not need to pay single rupee for this.
they hv not told me exact time to issue it, actual the person responsible for my area was not present when i visited. so will visit again tomorrow and will inquire the things in detail.

nyways now i have to just wait till 20th to get it....going for our medicals on friday....hopefully should be submitting all the documents by 21st march...

kinda excited and nervous too....have u zeroed on any location in particular at toronto ?

In ahmedabad when reissuing of my passport i also got appointment of the date after 1 and 1/2 month, then i ask for an agent for this purpose and i got new passport within 20 days, (even before tht appointment date).

Initially in Ahmedabad also one need to stand in queue from 2 am 3 am, but now they have given facility to submit application to some of GPOs, Police Commissioner offices etc. at that place no need to take appointment, also these places accept applications for fresh passports and renew passport (if it expires within one year).

So ask for some of the alternatives like these available in ahmedabad.

we have alternatives like dat in bangalore too...they are called B1 centres....the only problem is that we have to submit all our original documents for any purpose.....n thr have been incidents wer those documents have been lost in transit ???....so we decided to go to the police commissioner's office....

hmm.... some times they are making system more complicated when trying to simplifying it, v much contradictory but true.

Dear all forum colleagues and members of the boat sailing to canada,

Today I woke up in the morning at 7 am with a call on my egyptian line from the canadian embassy in egypt. I have just opened my eyes out of deep sleep reading the caller id I had to shake my head and answer the call immediately and a lady saying hi, is this Amr ... ?? I told her yeah thats me She proceeded telling me that it's the canadian embassy calling to inform me that they will send a letter by dhl today to ask for my police clearance of egypt and qatar and for the medicals as well and I should be expecting it today or tommorow. I was crazily happy to see them communicating this way which raised my fear that they are checking on me and my way of speaking. No matter what happened did not distract me from asking about the so important question demanding a real significant answer about the police clearance expirey date for the qatari one which is a country I have worked by for a year and a half. She simply asked me " when did you do your police clearance of qatar ? " I told her in december 20th 2010 and her answer was " As long as you have done it after you left the country then it should be fine " and she finally informed me that I should translate the police clearances .

This is was my morning of today which I loved to share as long as the story can cool down the concerns about many of the people here )

If you think that's painful, try painfully waiting for ONE person from your visa office to get a 2nd AOR, let alone medical requests!

i sure hope manila visa office will also try to the courier thingy..the regular mail makes me sick..it will take 2 weeks for the mail to be delivered to my consultants office..
