I just saw, I have a new number (seems to be)... very strange. It is just mentioned in the letter's subject and it starts from B05.

Interesting way of number communication they choose.

And still cannot check my e-cas even with the new number Who needs it anyway!!!!!!

I just wanted to share this information for all those who are wondering how long does it take to get FBI clearance.

In the letter I received from them it says that they received it on 1/18 and returned it to me on 2/16 and I received my last week (don't remember exact date but around 3/1). That adds up to 6 weeks!

Also keep in mind that it depends on your place of residence how long it will travel before it reaches you. I live in US and 2 weeks is really long time for letter to travel, but it could be much longer if it is international address. I don't even know if they mail internationally? Maybe someone who had that experience can share...

Hi Friends, Yes they do mail internationally. however i do not remember the exact time duration for I had applied there for my son and as far as I remember they provided good and prompt service.

i just came to know from another forum that singapore VO sent a team to verify one of the applicants job experience in an organization (in bangladesh). that team met with HR for checking the duration of stay in that organization and then met with the supervisor to verify job duties.

any post june applicant experince this yet in our forum???

Also in Police commissioner office this certificate is issued through Passport department only, In the form for this PVC it is asked for document related to visa, so I think it should be accepted for immigration purposes.

Hey Rupal,

The contents of PCC and PVC are different....PVC is a more detailed explanation compared to PCC...Here in bangalore, the police commissioner office issues both PCC and PVC for immigration visa....it is mandatory to get both for immigration according to them.....but if you apply through passport office, you would get PCC alone...

I had to take both PCC and PVC because the commissioner office insisted on it.....when i told them i only needed PCC, they said they would mention in the PCC that it is not for job prupose and only for visiting visa ....hence i had to accept....i had no choice because there were no appointments b4 the 27th of april to visit passport seva kendra here in bangalore

If you manage to get PCC thats enough....PVC is more expensive too....Its abt 3000 here in bangalore whereas PCC is only 200....

Submit the Forms and 300Rs in the morning along with the passport and collect the Passports along with the PCCs in the evening. There may be a delay if you are applying at a different passport office than the one that issued your passports, but it might not take more than a week. Generally the passport office which issues your passport has your police records on file and so it's so much easier for them to issue a PCC.

I've always heard that the certificates from the Police people, are always time consuming and complicated. Some, even ask for the proof that the VO needs it

I suggest passport offices(where your passports are issued) for the Indian PCCs.

You are right...PCC's are more than enough...the problem here in Bangalore is, PCC's are issued by the Mini Passport seva kendra and not the regional passport office ....this is available only in bnagalore and chandigarh.....

and because of this, its mandatory to take appointment for every service.....n believe me, ppl wait from 6am outside this office....

nyways the commissioner office guys r pretty friendly here...so we might get it in about 10 days.....

but alas, i had to shell extra 3k for the PVC

Complicated they are, The Indian embassy here in Dublin took a month and a half to issue it to me, the Irish ones took a month and the Singapore Embassy requested a letter from Canada Immigration that they require a PCC.
I had to email London and they sent me a generic form that I could use. Sadly, Singapore have stopped issuing PCC to foreigners since september last year.
Luckily i got it just before that. Hopefully the timing works out well otherwise i dont know what i am going to do.
