E-cas showed in process on May 4th but they actually started processing my application on May 1st.

My passport is still in Buffalo....

Buffalo office is going to close within a few weeks because federal government wants to cut off budget.

All 75 employees in there will be assigned to work somewhere...

All applications in there will be transferred around inside of Canada, but I do not know exact location.

Is that a good news for us or not..

Yeah I just read the new. But our files are in Ottawa currently, I am guessing there will not be transferring back to Buffalo? I just hope this will not put extra burden on the Ottawa office....

Hi,

I'm just wondering if there is anyone on this forum have an answer to my question.
I have applied for SINP under post-graduation category(Saskatchewan Nominee Program) and I have been nominated in the month of October 2011. I submitted my Federal application to Buffalo and was received on 14 December 2011. I did my medical examination 2 weeks ago and It has been sent out to the Visa office and was received by the office yesterday on 25/5/2012. Below are my enquiry:

1) Since I have done my medical, does it mean that I my application has pretty much been approved and all the background check have been done and I have passed?

2) How much longer do I need to wait before I receive a request to submit my passport?

I hope someone on this forum can answer my questions.

I have another question regarding the status on E-CAS. My status remained the same since 14 December 2011 which says 'application receved' eventhough I have received the medical request. What does the status imply? Does it mean it has not been in process yet? What would the status say if my application has been proccess? IN Process?

I have been waiting to see what will happen to Buffalo and it looks like as of today they have closed and transferred all applications elsewhere. The statement seems to imply that if your application is in CPP-O then it will stay there. I am a bit worried myself as my passport was in Buffalo for stamping but now I am not sure if it has been sent to Ottawa or some other office in North America.

Here is the statement regarding what is happening with the applications:

Yeah, I saw the news too. Some other people said even though they announced closure, it will still take them weeks to finalize the work. Maybe you can send Buffalo and Ottawa an email to find out what will happen, as you are so close

I am going to phone the call centre today to see if they have any additional information. I will let you all know what I find!

It seems like all application in Buffalo are transferred to Ottawa..

I guess Ottawa will be 2nd Buffalo, move slowly and slowly..

Hey, guys, till now, I am not able to access my e cas, what happened, I contacted Ottawa, the following is the reply


"The only thing were are awaiting are the medical examination results. Once our medical team has received and assessed them the officer in charge of your file will contact you.

Thank you for your continued patience and understand,"



They told me the process of my application, but that was not my enquiry, mine is what happened with my e cas,
I asked them to update it...

Does that mean they finished all the other checks for you and are just waiting for your medical? That sounds pretty good to me. I hope my case is the same too.

They received my meds on May 9, ecas still doesn't show anything besides Application Received. I would say just forget about it, ecas is kinda useless. I am sure they are working on our files and maybe too busy to update ecas. I hope we can see some moves by July.

I do not know. maybe once they have my medical exam result, they will start with the background check...
for people done the medical exam in march, some of them start to get ppr.
hope we will hear something soon.
