Do you not think everyone has had to adjust to long wait times when it comes to most services in Canada due to covid? I had a medical procedure cancelled 5 times. I didn’t complain because I knew that everyone else was going through delays as well. I think I may get surgery in 2 years if I’m lucky. This has been a tough 1.5years. We have all had to deal with the government taking much longer to get back to you anytime you ask a question. PRs have access to all services and benefits that Canadians receive so for most just waiting will no impact to their daily lives. You aren’t stuck abroad waiting for another 1+ yrs to enter Canada or to get your application approved. Some are waiting 2 years to reunite with a spouse. Not sure how you are not being treated with respect? There isn’t a small number of people applying for citizenship who have been delayed there are delays throughout the whole immigration system. In general everyone in Canada has been affected by covid in a variety of ways. It’s unfortunate but we have to be flexible and consider that we are lucky that we’ve had access to vaccines, access to financial support, access to free treatment if we get covid, etc.

Then go found a non-profit. Your charity words will take you places.

There is no pattern at all , IRCC is just randomly processing applications. There are applicants who have applied for citizenship Jan 2021, and they have already received their citizenship and passport. Yet there are applicants from 2019 who have no updates on their status for months and months. Why are they processing newer applications faster than older applications ? I know dozens of 2021 applicants who are finished their process.

All items still "in progress" for me and they have not asked me for anything further. Just a huge delay. They don't answer the phone. Also , when you send a webform, after 2 months they respond and say we are busy dealing with the situation in Afghanistan, all our agents are working priority on Afghanistan. What about us ? Are we forgotten forever? Why are 2021 applicants already done the process. 2019 , 2018 applicants waiting endlessly?

I already emailed the Minister of immigration office email. After 1.5 months they responded and said "send IRCC a webform" , LOL.

I have emailed both the immigration minister and my local MP. No help at all.

I basically explained how my application is in limbo for 3 years and no updates, but they are processing and completing 2021 applications within 8-12 months. I know many 2021 applicants who already have their citizenship and passport in hand.

what is your timeline ? any progress on your application?

I am July 2019 applicant and everything is in progress. Called IRCC, MPs submitted webform but not progress. not sure what to do now, very frustrating on how they are working.

Background check complete August 2020.
Citizenship test complete 27th July 2021.
Copy of my passport send September 2th, 2021.
no update since September 2021.
