Who knows how much time takes Vienna Visa Office to send MEDICALS? Have UCI from january 2016

Hello and welcome to the long waiting game. I am a PNP nominee having applied for PR back in June 2015. I received AOR in August 7th and since then nothing. Vienna Visa Office is one of the slowest.

I think the standard process is to collect and submit all necessary documents in person through VFS.

VFS - Visa For Services. They are a third party which help applicants and consulates with collection and dispatch of passport and visa applications.

I'm happy and confused...(seems to be a constant state at the moment..). I'm Dutch, my husband is Canadian and I've applied for PR - family class - outland. I currently reside in the Netherlands, my husband in Canada. We submitted 10 February, we received AOR on 15 March and SA today (21 March). But while we were expecting our application would be sent to Vienna for further processing, they've instead sent it to CPC-Ottawa.

Did anybody experience the same? I wonder if this is working in our favour.. as this route just might take much longer than Vienna. Or... ? I'm wondering if it might have to do with the fact that I lived in Canada before (for one year, 2008) on a student permit and therefore already have a UCI and Canadian uni certificates etc. But that's all I can think of...

Can anyone shine a light on this? Thanks!!

I'm Canadian and my spouse in German - we live in Germany and are also applying for the outland spousal sponsorship. We had the exact same thing. We were expecting Vienna and got Ottawa! When I emailed them about it they just confirmed that it has been forwarded to Ottawa.. and now it's 'in process'. According to someone else on this forum, this has been happening with some Vienna applicants. Apparently CPC-Ottawa is a quicker office.. so fingers crossed it's an advantage for us Good luck!

Do you know how long does it take for the visa office to return your passport? I got the PPR on March 16 and sent the passport and the additional documents on March 22 and it was received the next day. So far, its been more than two weeks and I haven't heard anything back. Also my application status still shows "In Process". Is that normal?

It depends. What category are you applying for? Did you do your medicals? What additional documents did they ask?

Hello everyone.
I have a question in regards to timeline.
I send in my daughters application for dependent child sponsorship 4 weeks ago.
My daughter is 17 years old and a resident of Germany.
I already received an email with the approval of sponsor.
It also says the application has been sent to Vienna for the permanent resident application.
Does anybody know how long the processing time is?
I checked on the website and it says 18 months.
It seems aweful long for a child application.
Anyone with experience on this?

All new family sponsorship applications must first be mailed to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Is this good or bad?

That's where everyone has to send it first.. don't send it to Vienna! Send your whole package to Mississauga. It has to go there first for the sponsor to be approved.. and once approved, the package gets forwarded to Vienna.

At least that's what I understand

Hi,

Don't send it to Vienna as they will return it to you. You have to send it to the CPC in Mississauga, Ontario.
